About this Cook
I'm a country girl living in the city, I'm in college and enjoy cooking, spending time with my family when I can, my two dogs, shooting, and spending time outside! If I'm not outside I like to be cooking something!
My favorite things to cook
Anything and everything, I love trying new recipes and experimenting and coming up with my own! I love baking. Puff pastry is my obsession, I'm not sure if it's because it's tasty or just plain fascinating. I seem to have a knack for "liquid" foods such as soups, sauces, marinades, etc.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Classic southern food, simple but delicious! Oh and making everything from scratch. My mama and grandma taught me almost everything I know about cooking! I want to be able to share what they taught me with my own kids one day, and carry on the family tradition of good cooking.
My cooking triumphs
Whenever I throw a bunch of stuff together and it turns out awesome! But then I never am able to make it the same way again :( Most of my best cooking is "limited edition"
My cooking tragedies
forgetting to add the flour to chocolate chip cookies and forgetting to whip the cream when making cake icing.. woops.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins
I used buttermilk in place of milk and melted butter in place of oil. The muffins were very fluffy and moist. The topping really completed them, but I had a lot of extra left over. I will probably half that next time. These muffins are delicious for breakfast or as a dessert!

Delicious Rosemary Bread
This bread is awesome!! I was looking for a way to use up some fresh rosemary that my mom gave me, so I decided to make this. It is wonderful and I have to say this is my greatest success in bread making so far! The texture and taste are great, and the dough shaped up really nicely. I "kneaded" it in my kitchenaid for about 8 minutes, and since the weather here is humid I had to add a little additional flour. I actually used only olive oil as I did not have any butter. This bread was definitely a hit and I will be making it again soon! Thanks for a great recipe :)
