I made these to go with some jambalaya last night and they were sooo easy. They came out moist, tender, and flaky. This recipe is a definite keeper! Everyone loved them. Thanks!

Green Bean Almondine with Garlic and Blue Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2014
I rarely use fresh green beans because they always just seem to taste 'green' to me, but this recipe worked great. Everyone really liked them. I did take the advice of some others & sautéed some red onion with the almonds. I will use this again & again.

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2013
I'm not a huge fan of scones and neither is my hubby, but this recipe was so highly rated, I decided to give it a try. Guess what!?! Now we are fans! These are really good. Not dry like so many. I took others advice and added orange extract, orange zest, and dried cranberries and they were very good. I will definitely continue to make these.

Princess Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2013
These are sooo good. I made mine bigger (I have princes, not princesses) and baked them about 9-10 minutes. Like others said, they are much better with the glaze so be sure to top them off with a generous drizzle.

Oven-Roasted Asparagus

This was really good! I followed the recipe except I used red chili infused olive oil for a little extra kick. I roasted for 15 min & it was perfect. Thanks!

Easy Rum Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2013
I have made this cake many times now and it's always a hit! No one ever believes it came from a mix & it's become a regular request from friends & family. I do take the cake out of the pan & pour in a bit of the rum mixture so the cake can 'marinate' in it before I skewer it & pour the rest on top. Very yummy & moist.

German Pancakes II

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2012
I've been making this for a few years, but this recipe is easier than what I have been using. I did melt the butter in a large oven-proof skillet before adding the batter & I allowed it to cook on the stove top 1 min before putting it in the oven. Also cut back to 4 eggs and added 1/4c sugar, some cinnamon, & nutmeg. Squeeze a fresh lemon over the top & sprinkle with powdered sugar. So easy & so DELICIOUS!

Cappuccino Bon-Bons

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2012
Great stuff! I did decide to take it one step further toward adulthood... As I was about to make the coffee to replace the 1/3 cup of water (as others recommended) I glanced over to the liquor cabinet. Yes, Kahlua instead of water or coffee - plus the 2Tbsp of instant coffee & you're set to go! Very grown up & elegant. I will make these again and again.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2012
I am not really a fan of apple pie, but I made this (with no modifications except for using a mix of apples) for a 4th of July family cookout (what's more American than Apple Pie?) and it was really good! I used a deep dish frozen pie crust (brushed with milk as advised), and roll-up refrigerated crust for my lattice. Everyone loved it and it looked absolutely amazing... So amazing that I took pictures & sent them to my friends! Thanks Grandma Ople!

Quick Yeast Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2014
These were easy and oh, so good! I added the yeast to the sugar & warm water to let it bloom before adding it to the other ingredients, then I used my KitchenAid mixer with the dough hook and set it on medium for 5 minutes. I just left it in the bowl & covered it for 30 min to rise. It was very sticky, as others said, but I just spooned it into the muffin tin & let it rise another 15 min. I will definitely be making these again and again!

Coconut Tilapia with Apricot Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2012
This was awesome! I was looking for something different to do with my fish & luckily I found this recipe. I pulsed the coconut mixture in my food processor & that gave it the perfect consistency. I baked the fish at 350 for about 15-20min & it was crispy perfect. I also used the coconut to coat some zucchini, the fried it in olive oil. Yummy! I'll definitely use this recipe again.

Cake Mix Cookies IV

Awesome and so easy! I just made 2 batches to take to my college age sons & I can't keep my husband out of them. I made 1 batch with white cake mix, a touch of almond extract, & chocolate chips and 1 batch with fudge cake mix and walnuts. Wonderful, soft, & chewy.

Key Lime and Pretzel Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2014
Made this for the first time last night and I'm so glad I did! All the reviews were correct and I have my new 'go to' recipe for key lime pie. I made a pretzel crust using coconut oil instead of butter (thanks to another reviewer) and it compliments the filling perfectly. I had gotten a bunch of Mexican limes in my weekly food basket, so I just used those. This is a keeper!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

These were excellent & especially easy since I took the 'working woman's' way out & used store-bought 'break & bake' cookie dough. I will continue to make these for years to come! Thanks!
