Brown Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2014
Sounds delish and I know a friend that used this recipe for a wedding dinner and it was a real hit. I have to laugh though at the people that give it a low rating but say "I used this and not that, and I cooked it this long and not that long, and I added this but not that" how silly, why rate the recipe at all if you're not going to follow the directions and then complain when it doesn't come out right. No duh!!--you didn't even use this recipe.

Saltine Toffee Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2014
Fabulous and so easy to make. I made mine in a square pan that was a little bigger than an 8x8, it was a pan that fits in my toaster oven. This amount of butter and brown sugar will not cover a 13x9 pan so you need to use a smaller pan. It tastes like the best toffee and you can't even tell it's made with the saltine crackers. Be sure to boil the butter, brown sugar mixture for the stated 3 minutes or it will be grainy. I put foil down on the pan first and then after it had cooled completely in the fridge, I just peeled the foil off the bottom and broke the toffee into pieces. Great for Christmas gift giving. Thank you Tracy, so good.

Asian Beef Skewers

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2012
I will definitely try this, sounds wonderful. I'm wondering how anyone (a reviewer) could possibly substitute rice vinegar for the sherry, they are so different in taste. The sherry has a nutty, wonderful taste and the rice vinegar is 'just that' "vinegar" That must have changed the whole recipe taste. I will do it the way that Vivian wrote it, the way it's supposed to be.

Oh thank you so much for this recipe. I remember a friend of mine used to make this, she is no longer here and I have always wanted to try this. I love to cook but my hubby (passed 4 years ago) and I do miss cooking for him, but guess what, I will try this when I go to visit my daughter and g-kids in Portland this summer. Again thank you.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2012
I have been making Chicken Marsala for years and served it as a special dish to my family. This is a very good recipe but due to the fact that I have to watch my sodium I use Marsala (3/4) cup and don't use any of the cooking sherry as cooking sherry has lot's of sodium in it. But this is just me, others may not have a sodium problem. Still a great recipe!

Quick Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2011
I haven't made this yet, but definetly will, sounds so good. I've made Chicken Marsala before but lost the recipe so thank you. Oh and I might add, you absolutley have to use the Marsala wine, that's what makes it so good, but using the Golden Mushroom soup, yummm and what a time saver. Thanks again Susan.

Apple Nut Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2011
Maybe it was my gas oven and it cooked too hot, but this came out really dry and no taste of apple at all. I even added more apple. Like I said I will probably add more apple next time. Also I live at 3800 altitude so maybe that was the problem. Regardless I will try again as no one else had the problem of it being dry except me.

Fantastic!! I had this version at a Christmas party at the Beverly Hills Four Seasons Hotel and the bartender was making them "your way" It is the only way to make them as far as I am concerned. Thanks for the recipe for this.
