White Almond Wedding Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2009
This cake is perfection! I have made a lot of cakes and this one really hits the spot. You must try this to believe how good it is. I made this for my husband's 30th birthday party and everyone loved it. This is way better than some of the cakes I've ordered from bakeries. Definitely try this and follow exactly, I wouldn't add anything. I frosted with a simple vanilla almond buttercream icing, 3 c. confectionary sugar, 1/3 c. butter, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp. almond extract and 1-2 Tbsp. milk. Make sure to read the recipe correctly to use the right size pan. I read too fast and used a 7x11 inch pan and it came out perfectly but very high and took forever to bake at 325. I think a 9x13 would be fine also. thank you CUPYCAKESMURF!

Toffee Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2008
Mmmmmmm! I made these today for our Sunday School class tomorrow, and I wasn't sure what to expect. They were so easy and taste so good! They taste exactly like a toffee candy bar. It's good I made another dessert also because we wouldn't have enough left to take to class! I will definitely be making this easy and delicious bar again. I might make it in a 9x13 pan next time because they came out too thin in my opinion for a bar. That's the only thing I'd change! I did use some chocolate chips and some Hershey's dark Bliss pieces, and spreaded all together.

World's Best Maine Whoopie Pies - Ayuh

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2012
Hopefully the previous poor reviews won't keep folks away from trying this recipe. Mine turned out wonderfully! It does take some time to bake all the cookies, but then just have the kids or grandkids match sizes together. The filling was a cinch...just make sure you don't start it at high right away or you'll have milk flying everywhere! You'll notice it's runny in the beginning but as it mixes, just speed it up and after a few minutes it turns into a beautiful white fluff!!! I've grown up around Whoopie Pies and Shoofly pie, living here in the PA Dutch area, and I'm very picky, and this recipe ranks up there with Mom's whoopie pie recipe. I had always wanted to try a filling made with marshmallow creme. I skipped the wrapping and freezing part, as these will all be eaten this week. Thanks Teresa! Until finding your recipe, I didn't know whoopie pies were even made in Maine. Thought only us in PA ate them!

Danish Pastry Apple Bars II

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
I wouldn't consider these bars, more like apple pie in a 9x13. It was very good, but I did substitute oatmeal for the cornflakes. I took this to a young adults Sunday School class and they all loved it. I might try to make more of an icing for it next time, the glaze didn't do much for me. My suggestion is to roll out the dough on a silicone pastry mat and then flip it into the pan. That's the only thing that worked for me. I only used about 1/2 of the sugar but it was still great tasting. Will make again! Thanks for this recipe!

Very good, they're definitely cupcakes. Some comments said they tasted like muffins, but they are definitely sweet and cake-like.

Crispy Mashed Potato Pancake

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2011
Not the outstanding flavor of the potato cakes I order at the local diner, but easy enough so I might make again. Loved the crispy edges! I added parsley and chives.

Prize-Winning Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2001
Very good soft sugar cookie. I thought it had too much of a nutmeg taste though. But I will definitely make it again and just omit the nutmeg. Makes more than 4 dozen, about 5 dozen.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
These will be a cute addition to the cookie tray. Followed exactly and they turned out great. Wasn't sure about not greasing the tins but it wasn't a problem. I used my small Pampered Chef scoop and it made 55 cookies.

Overnight Ham and Cheese Omelet

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2012
Made this on Christmas Eve and baked in the morning. The only thing I'd change is using less bread next time. I used 3 large, firm steak rolls and it was too much.

Autumn Apple Blender Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2007
I would rate this cake 4-5 stars on taste, but on procedure and appearance I'd give it a 3. First off, it tastes delicious. I bake a lot, and this will definitely be made again. My husband and I almost just polished off 1/2 the cake. On the baking process, I will not use the blender next time. I will use my stand mixer and follow the same process. The blender did not mix it well and it was almost spilling out. I followed the recipe exactly except for using pumpkin pie spice instead of allspice since I don't have that. I would have to alter the recipe if I wanted to serve it to others (other than me and my family) because I didn't like how it didn't fill the pan enough so it wasn't a nice tall bundt cake. It stands low. i used a silicone bundt pan and it took about 40-45 minutes to bake through. Great tasting, I love the syrup in it, but would use my stand mixer next time. Thanks for a good tasting bundt cake recipe!!!

Snickerdoodle Chex® Mix

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
I doubled the recipe since after popping the microwave popcorn, I saw it made about 8 cups. This recipe was really good and we will be making it again. It went over really well at a get together this past weekend. The chocolate chex are amazing!

Plantation Gingerbread

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2006
Made this cake for a Christmas party and I paired it with Lemon Sauce I from this site. I will make this cake again and it was very easy to make. I mixed the dry ingredients the night before so it only took me a few minutes to get it into the oven the next day. Everyone said it was great and it was very moist.

Barbecued Round Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
To save time, I cut up my steak into strips and then threw everything into the crock-pot. I did NOT brown the meat first. I don't have tomato juice on hand, so I substituted Ragu traditional sauce for the juice and ketchup. Had white rice to put it all on. Fast and easy and delicious.

Chilled Strawberry Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2011
I doubled the recipe and and used fresh strawberries insterad of frozen. I had to add extra Splenda probably because the fresh berries don't have added sweetners like frozen. Too chill quickly, I put in the freezer, and served to family. All 7 adults loved it paired with mexican entree.

Gingerbread Waffles with Hot Chocolate Sauce

I've made these a few times since 2002, just never rated them before. I do add some sugar to sweeten them to our liking, and I have never made the sauce. We usually serve ice cream over them.

Rainbow Pasta Salad I

Great recipe! This was my first time making pasta salad, and I wanted something with minimal ingredients. We skipped the olives, and used turkey pepperoni and fat free Wishbone Italian dressing, almost 1 bottle. Very good and I will keep making!!!

This was superb! I liked the fact that is used less of the ingredients compared to the similar recipe on this site, therefore it wasn't too much for our group of 6 adults.

Easy Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
This is a great recipe, I'm always looking for peach dessert recipes in August and this one is a keeper! I omitted the sugar and water, our peaches are juicy and sweet enough. I creamed the cream cheese and butter into the cake mix and sprinkled it all on top of the peaches. Delicious!
