I rate this a 4 when made according to recipe. When made with a few changes it is easily worthy of a five star rating. I made these with only butter, doubled the vanilla, doubled the cinnamon, cut the cloves in half, added a dash of nutmeg, dash of ginger, and MOST IMPORTANTLY I soaked my raisins in Sugar water to rehydrate them. Then I formed balls a little bigger than walnuts and cooked for about 11 minutes. After doing these things I found that the cookies were the best I have had in a long time. Only thing I will do differently next time is to add another 1/4 cup of raisins. 1 cup just isn't enough for this recipe.
