Moong Dal with Spinach

The spinach really makes these otherwise dull beans extraordinary. The spices are well balanced but who doesn't want more curry leaves? And when she says a "pinch" of hing/asafoetida, she means it. We found out the hard way.

Eggplant and Lamb Stew

This is delicious and pretty easy to make. Don't tell my kids it has eggplant in it or they won't eat it anymore!

Penne and Vodka Sauce

Our daughter really wanted a Vodka sauce since she enjoys it at one of our favourite restaurants. This is even better and now it's everyone's favourite. Have done and will do it again and again.

Robin's Quinoa with Mushrooms and Spinach

This was our family's introduction to Quinoa and it was just dandy. Some of us would have liked more mushrooms but who's complaining. The blending of flavours was just lovely.

Granny's Spice Rub

This was just fine on a boneless leg of lamb. No heat, which my wife liked and plenty of taste which we all liked. I agree that it needs salt.

Chicken Tikka Masala

This was truly wonderful as evidenced by the fact that all four of my children loved it! Only thing to beware of is that the serving sizes are a small volume but very rich. We love this one.

Curry Cheddar Scrambled Eggs

Really quite nice. Very simple and tasty. Like any recipe that uses curry powder, the end product will vary with the character/quality of the curry. I suppose the same could be said of cheese -- cheddar or otherwise.

Jackie's Vodka Sauce

We decided to have a pasta night with a variety of sauces. Our favorite restaurant has a vodka sauce that we wished to replicate. What a find this recipe proved to be. I did use six cloves of garlic as opposed to 2, but other than that, I changed nothing. We enjoyed it so much, we plan to make several batches this weekend to can for future use.
