Chocolate Crinkles II

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2014
These are great...for the novice (like me), a 50 whatever spoon is NOT a tablespoon size...I used a tablespoon and got half the cookies...go smaller...these are nice and rich, almost brownie like. also, the recipe doesn't say electric mixer...saw that in the video after I made the batter...that would have been handy up front. my forearms are talking to me after mixing it by hand. Great recipe and will do again...smaller...and with an electric mixer. Enjoy!

Cajun Style Blackened Snapper

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2011
Great cajun spices! I too decreased the cayenne (1/2 tsp), omitted white pepper and only used 1/2 tsp of salt. Just put the fillets on a baking pan, drizzled with olive oil and rubbed the spices all over the top. Broiled for about 15 mins until the fish flaked. Very good and healthy - there's no need for all that butter!

Indian Eggplant - Bhurtha

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2011
Loved this! Made a few changes (of course)! In addition to the onion and eggplant, I added 6oz broccoli florets, 1/2 bunch kale and used a can of petite diced tomato rather than fresh. I also used 1 tsp garam marsala and 1 tsp curry powder in addition to the spices called for in the recipe. Finally, I finished it off with a can of lite coconut milk and it was DELICIOUS!

Herb Roasted Pork

Reviewed: May 23, 2011
I'm not one to measure when it comes to spices, but used an ample amount of sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder and sage on two small tenderloins. For the sauce, I used balsamic and brown sugar per other reviews, and added siracha sauce for a little kick. Roasted the tenderloins uncovered on a broiler pan for 45 mins, basting with the sauce the last 15 mins. Then basted them with more sauce and transferred to a warming drawer for a few hours before serving. Excellent!

Broiled Grouper Parmesan

Reviewed: May 19, 2011
To cut back on fat and calories, I used half the recommended Parm, butter and mayo, a little more lemon and plenty of black pepper and garlic for flavor (I had only 1.5 lbs fish). Also added 1/4 cup panko to the mixture and topped the fish for the last min of cooking. It was pretty and tasty with just the right amount of crunch. Will definitely make again.

Slow Cooker Cranberry Turkey Breast

Reviewed: May 19, 2011
I use a turkey breast with the bone which flavors the gravy beautifully. Skipped the onion mix (to avoid all the sodium) and seasoned the breast with sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, sage and thyme. Put one chopped onion and one chopped celery stalk around the breast with the cranberry sauce and juice and you're good to go. We LOVE turkey cooked in the crock pot!

Flounder Zucchini Bundles

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
This is a great summer meal! I added yellow squash and fresh parsley to the other ingredients and also poked holes in the bottom of the foil so the fish drains and doesn't get too mushy.

These cupcakes are wonderful. They're more like a muffin, but my family loved them. I added vanilla and cinnamon and they were perfect!

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
This is a perfect sub for the store-bought taco seasoning packets. It's healthy and has a ton of flavor. It's our "go-to" receipe for taco night:)

Southwestern-Flavored Ground Beef or Turkey for Tacos & Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
This was good; however my family voted the recipe called Taco Seasoning 1 is a bigger hit. If you like tomatoes in your taco meat, this one's a winner! Bottom line, both recipes are terrific, healthy alternatives to the packaged seasonings!

not what we were hoping for - a bit too oily and the vinegar flavor stood out.

Jay's Jerk Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2011
Fantastic and easy! I didn't have a jalapeno on hand but substitued dried Cayanne Pepper in it's place. Glad I did - it had a nice kick (used about 2 tsp in the recipe)...don't know if the Jalapano would have enough kick for my taste. Also, I used 10 green onions too - came out great - everyone at the party loved it! Wonderful with Grilled Pinapple and Mango salsa recipe on Allrecipes. Enjoy!

great with Jerk Chicken. Also - recommend using a little apple-wood smoke when grilling the pinapple and peppers - added a nice flavor.
