Frosting for Petits Fours

Alot of work mine was way too thick it didn't pour I had to dip. I used with the petit four recipe and threw the whole lot out. It was alot of work for a small amount of icing that was bubbly and extremly sweet. Mine was way too thick so I thinned with water and it worked better. But you still had to put too much to get a smooth finish. This is my first time so I didn't expect to master making petit fours but this was really unusable. Taste and texture on mine was bad. Please try the recipe may be I did something wrong.

Hot Artichoke Spinach Dip

Applause Applause Applause. I made this the first time for a couple who had never come over to eat before. I served it as an appetizer with a crusty italian bread cut in about 3/4 inch slices. I doubled the recipe and we ate the whole thing it is that good. My guests were stunned and are still talking about what a "great cook I am". The reaction was outstanding and the dip is perfect. I just added diced roma tomatoes and fresh chopped basil to the top just before serving. Be sure to let the top get nice and brown. If not it won't be hot all the way through. We make this dish all the time now. It reheats great. Nice presentation and excellent texture. I would serve this to anybody at any occasion. Thank you for the great recipe.

Fusion Chili

CLAP CLAP CLAP Excellent!!!! I agree with the description. It is the perfect blend of Tex and Mex. I am a Texas girl living in California land of Baha Mexican cooking. Fish tacos are good, but I forgot how wonderful Texas tastes. A well thought out recipe. Excellent texture, taste and heat. I used 10 chipolte peppers in adobe sauce from a can. This saved the entire first step. I just used 10 not the whole can and it was perfect. I also added 2 extra cans of diced tomatoes. I prefer my chili a bit soupy since most thicken later. I only used 1 large yellow onion. I also added some red and green bell peppers I really felt like I was building a great tasting chili right from the get go. I loved the extra touch of carmalizing the tomato paste. Really added a nice layer of flavor. This is the best chili I have ever made.

American Lasagna

Very good basic recipe. But Where's The Herbs. I doubled this recipe and got one to freeze. I added 3/4 cup fresh basil, 1/4 cup fresh oregano and 1/2 cup fresh italian parsley. I grow my own herbs and love to use large quantities and that is where the flavor comes from. Everything else was great I didn't need to use the tomato paste. I just cooked the sauce a little longer. I also added some vegetables.

Chili I

Very Good. I didn't have beer coffee or cumin. I also added bell peppers and beef base. KI used Garbanzo beans because they are the only beans I like. Wonderful and filling on a "chilli" California night.

Fresh Tomato Salsa

Excellent!! I used this recipe which was very good. I also used it as a template for my own by changing things to suit my specific tastes and it has opened the new world of homemade salsa. Add the salt last, taste to test before and after, it really brings out the flavors and puts it all together.

Chocolate Angel Food Cake II

Very good and pretty simple. The instructions were very well thought out. I am going to make this again tonight. Mine turned a bit flat but I think my eggs were too old or I cooked it too long. I also used chips I just chopped them with a knife. I liked the little chocolate chunks.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Great I just made it. Excellent directions very easy to follow. I added garlic. I did not think the sauce was too sweet. It has a nice bar-b-que sauce flavor. After cooking I inverted it onto a small serving dish it so the sauce was on top. It is so good. I am very happy with this recipe and will use many more times. It is very important to use lean meat. The leaner the better it will be most likely. Thanks for sharing the great recipe. So simple it was done lickity split. Very little mess.

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

LOVED IT!! I added honey to the cream cheese in the first layer. I also used light cream cheese which turned out great. Came out perfect the first time. Well written instructions very clear and easy.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

GREAT PIE!! Second apple pie I have ever made. Very tasty and looked dazzling. My husband loved it. I added cinnamon and used the cream cheese pie crust from the crust section. Very easy and well worth the peeling and coring. Thanks for sharing such a great pie.
