Southern Fried Cabbage

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2014
I make this all the time....basically like recipe, except I do not add sugar, but add a pinch of cayenne or something hot, maybe a little pepper seeds.....I fry the bacon, take out most of the grease and only add more if I think I need it.....don't need a can omit the grease and just use olive oil or coconut oil.....that is what I do most of the that grease is not all that good for you :) clog arteries......I also chopped my cabbage pretty fine and it doesn't take that long to fry it.....I like it cut , kinda like you would for cole slaw....and I add some parsley, garlic powder, onion powder or saute some onions after you cook the it with a piece of cornbread and that is good southern eating......

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2013
Yes, made these last nite, and they are wonderful...taste just like a reese cup :) no kidding....but when I make them again, I would do a couple of things different...I would definitely line the pan with either wax paper or parchment paper, and then remove it all and put on counter to was hard to cut in the pan, and get it out.....and I would pour in a thin layer of chocolate in the pan first, and put in fridge for about 15 mins. then pour the peanut butter mixture over that, then back in fridge for about 15 mins. then take out and add the rest of the chocolate and spread on I found the top chocolate a bit too thick, so by putting a thin layer on the bottom first, then the top would be perfect and less of a mess eating it.....and you definitely have to leave it in the fridge once you cut it in squares.... but it is well worth making.....
