Chef John's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2012
Brilliant, I took these in to work and they went down a treat! I got 30 biscuits out of this recipe, made exactly as shown. They keep well too, if you can resist.

Pumpkin-Pecan Braid

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2012
I used ready rolled puff pastry as it was more like the pecan Danish recipe I have been looking for, the rest of the recipe was made exactly as stated. They were perfect and didn't last until the next day as they were so good. I made 6 quite large Danish pastries, I could've made 12 smaller if you are able to resist them but we would've just ended up eating 2 in one go as they were delicious!

Low Carb Zucchini Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2012
I love courgette fritters (I'm British). I let my courgette drain in a colander or even a sieve for up to an hour then just squeeze excess water out with my hands. It's such an easy recipe and tastes delicious plus they're very filling when you're hungry. I also like to experiment with herbs and spices and this is good with chopped green or red chilli; fresh chives; mint and parsley.

Grandma's Butter Noodles

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
These are delicious! This is the first time I've ever made my own noodles and it was easier than I expected. I love the way they puff up in the water when you boil them!

Mulligatawny Soup II

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
I made this last night for my parents and my fiancé, we all loved it. It served 4 of us (we like a large bowl). It seems like a lot of work at first glance but it isn't really, it's just a matter of preparing everything and then throwing it in when stated in the directions - just let it do it's thing!

Roasted Butternut Squash and Garlic Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
Delicious! My fiancé loves garlic, he eats whole cloves! (it's good for the blood). However, not necessarily a recipe to eat before socialising, as it could prove overpowering, but still very good!

Christmas Stollen

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
The best bit is when you reach the marzipan! I made this with plain flour as I was keen to make the recipe before my next shopping visit to buy the bread flour. It didn't rise as much as it probably would've, but I'll try making it again with the correct flour. I also used fast-action dried yeast and this must've affected the way the bread rose; I think if you have this type of yeast it is best to add it to the dry ingredients, as suggested by another reviewer, and add the milk and egg to the mix that way.
