Low Fat Buttermilk Ranch Dressing

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2014
Four stars for the original recipe. Good dressing as is. I have since made it a minimum of 10 times, each time tweaking a little here and a little there to better suit my taste buds. I now use 1 cup buttermilk, 1/2 cup regular sour cream, and half cup light mayo. I cut back on the salt, halved the onion powder, left out the chives and used 1/2 tsp. dried dill weed. I also added 1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce for depth, a pinch of sugar, and a tbsp. of grated parmesan cheese. When I'm wanting a thinner consistency, I will add 1/4 cup milk. This is so incredibly good that I will never buy bottled ranch again. Thanks for a great recipe!

Incredibly Easy Chicken and Noodles

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2012
Very good "from scratch" recipe for chicken and noodles. I used a 26 oz. bag of frozen egg noodles and it worked out just fine. Next time I would simmer the noodles 5-10 minutes longer for a total of 40 minutes and maybe add 1/2 tsp. of salt. Will definitely make again.

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2011
Very good recipe. The only change I made was to substitute one can of potato soup for cream of chicken soup just because I am a huge fan of it.

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2011
This was VERY good. I will definitly be making this again and again. I made two changes to the original recipe based off of suggestions given by other reviewers. I coated the chicken with flour before dipping in the egg and added extra spices to the cracker mix such as garlic and onion powder. Excellent recipe!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
This is excellent! However, I did not use celery or celery seed and added 1/2 can cream of chicken soup and 1 tsp. chicken base. I will definitely be making this again!

Puppy Chow I

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2010
I have never used butter when making puppy chow but boy was it good! I used a smaller box of cereal (~12 oz.) and I thought it was the perfect amount for the chocolate I had. Next time, I will use my hands to mix because the spoon crushed too many pieces. I took another reviewer's suggestion and microwaved the butter, peanut butter and chocolate for 1 1/2 minutes (30 sec. intervals) and it was perfect.

Crescent Bacon-Cheddar Pinwheels

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2010
These were good but not great. If I make them again, I will add more bacon and possibly a flavored cream cheese in place of ranch dressing.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2010
I was a bit skeptical only because I've unfortunately become accustomed to the salty, store-bought taco seasoning. But boy am I glad I decided to try this! It was very good! I read some reviews and followed these suggestions; omitted the black pepper, used 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper in place of crushed red pepper, added 1 tsp. corn starch, and added 1/2 tsp. of beef bouillon paste during the simmering process. I used 3/4 to 1 cup water and it was too much. Next time, I will use 2/3 cup. It's a wonderful taco seasoning without all of the unnecesssary salt!

Slow Cooker Cheesy Chicken and Tortillas

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2010
The flavor of this recipe was good but I didn't care for the consistency. I followed the recipe exactly and it was too runny for me. Next time, I will omit the stock and use more soup instead. I will also do what other reviewers suggested and add sour cream. I served it over rice and it was the perfect combination.

Seven Layer Taco Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2010
This is a good dip in itself but also a great starting point for creating a layered dip to suit your taste completely. Next time, I will omit the green peppers and lettuce because I didn't care for them in this dip and add a layer of guacamole. I'm going to try a packet of Hidden Valley Fiesta Ranch seasoning in place of the taco seasoning since I am a huge fan of it and would like to see how it tastes in this dip. I will also do what a few other reviewers suggested and put some seasoning in the sour cream/cream cheese layer. Overall, 4 stars for the original recipe!
