Award Winning Peaches and Cream Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2011
Made this yesterday. It's delicious! It is really "crustless", so if you want, pour into a crust then bake. We thought it would work well with cherries too.

Chai Tea Mix

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
Very good recipe! Don't skimp out and omit the Cardamom! It's the basis for this flavorful beverage. If you don't have it, buy it- or make a different kind of tea! I made this recipe as written with the exception of adding a little more of each spice and a few dashes of Allspice. Yumm, thank you!

Bourbon Slush

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2010
My Dad makes this every year for Thanksgiving. Here is his recipe that has been tested to the MAX.: 12oz can OJ (not diluted) 12oz can Lemonade (not diluted) 1 cup sugar 2 1/2 cups Bourbon (we use a well) 2 cups tea (4 teabags + 2 ups boiling water) Mix together & freeze in rectangle shaped tupperware for at least 24 hrs. Scoop out into glasses & top with Champagne (my fav.) or Gingerale/Sprite/7-up/Clubsoda/Tonic We triple this recipe and never have enough!

Quick Quiche

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
This is your basic quiche. I made it my own by using: diced shrimp, garlic, scallions, feta, & roasted red peppers. I also added 2 more eggs & it still didn't rise all the way to the top of the crust.

Austrian Jam Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
Good recipe, this was my 1st time making these type of cookies. I am a professional cook, but I am not a terrific baker. Luckily, these are foolproof with very fer ingredients. I made homemade jam a week ago so I used it & it was delish! I slightly under-baked them on purpose, and I did add more jam while they were cooling. I also made a batch in mini muffin pans as an experiment. Came out well too, just use more jam and let them cool completely before removing.

Cappuccino in a Jar

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
Just made this for my son's teachers. I read the reviews 1st and took the advice of using 1 cup coffee. I wound up using way more than that as it was still super weak, I can't imagine how anyone could drink this as written. It is a great idea though, just have to tweak to your taste. Also, check on the directions to provide people with- most people will use more water and therefore need more mix.

Best-Ever Chocolate Fudge Layer Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
Made this for Thanksgiving this year & it was great. It tasted like a bakery cake, not a mix. Very moist, great texture, and the icing wasn't as scary as i imagined. I did however use a thick layer of store bought fudge frosting on the 1st layer so it is very rich in the center, and gives a contrast to the slightly more bitter tasting icing. It is a little bit difficult to ice this cake as it tends to have a "crumblike" texture. Also, I melted the chocolate 1st, then added the cool whip. Make sure it cools. One last suggestion is to store the cake in the fridge. Serve slightly chilled or room temp., but best to keep cold.
