Bacon and Tomato Cups

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
Fantastic! I have made these a few times now to serve as appetizers at various events. Tonight, I am making them by request. Usually, when I am asked to bring an item, I am given total freedom as to what to bring ... but these were specifically requested by three different individuals. The only change I make is to divide the separated biscuits into sixths instead of just dividing them in half. Even when I double the recipe, there are never any leftovers. Always a big hit!

Harvey Ham Sandwiches

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
This is a really different and delicious way to make ham! We made it for our casual Easter today and it was perfect. Based on other reviews, I decreased the amount of brown sugar by about half and the "mustard barbeque sauce" was still perfectly sweet. I did not discard the ham broth after preparing the ham ... it will make a great soup base later!!! It looked/smelled heavenly.

Authentic Kicked-Up Syrian Hummus

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
I made this today and it really is a delicious hummus. Based on other reviews, I did decrease the amount of lemon juice the recipe called for but that is just personal preference. The only other change I made to the original recipe was to add a few olives and some hot sauce before I processed it. I also loosened it up with just a bit of water to get to the consistency I wanted. The flavor of this hummus is dead on! Incredible! Thank you, Mary!!

Cornbread Muffins I

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2010
Fantastic! After reviewing the written comments, I decreased the white sugar by half, but otherwise followed the recipe. These were moist and delicious. I will definitely be using this recipe again and again. A keeper for sure.

Spinach and Leek White Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2010
I've also tried substituting kale for the spinach, which is EXCELLENT. It really stands up to the broth base and keeps a nice texture. Add a little diced tomoatoes for added tasted and color.

Pizzelle-Italian Tradition

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
"Purists" who swear by anise when making a pizzelle don't know what they're missing when they refuse to accept other flavors. This recipe is awesome! I also made it with the zest of clementines (it's what I had on hand) and a little orange extract in the batter ... oh my god what a cookie ... Afterwards, I dusted the finished product with powdered sugar. Heavenly!

Ham Salad Spread

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
This is really good! I made this recipe with a ham that was not the best when I made it for my family (it was too salty for my taste) - but OH MY GOD this recipe turned a so-so ham experience into an exceptional one with this spread! Thank you, Mrs. Kulp.

Double-Layer Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
I made this pie for Thanksgiving and it was amazing. I did not use the pumpkin pie spice mix; rather, I used cinnamon, ginger and clove separately. I am not a fan of the traditional pumpkin pie (texture thing) - this substitute verstion is one that my whole family endorses!
