The flavor was delicious but the Crisco needs to be reduced to 1 tablespoon so the chocolate doesn't melt on your fingers when you pick them up.

Mexican Bean Salad

This was magnificent! My tweaks: 1 heaping tablespoon diced jalapeno peppers (Mt. Olive brand, they come in a jar pre-diced), 1/3 c. finely chopped cilantro (we love cilantro), 2 dashes of hot sauce and 1 teaspoon of chili powder. The bonus is that it tastes even better the second day so this is for sure a make-ahead dish. I used it for a party and everybody loved it, in fact I had to pass out the recipe and now it's moving on to other families as well! This is going to be my new standard summer pot luck dish.

Phoenician's Key Lime Pie

The quest for "THE" key lime pie recipe is over! This was a smashing success, perfectly tart, perfectly sweet, rich and creamy. The only thing I need to fix is that the crust was so crumbly it was difficult to serve but it was so good I still have to give it 5 stars. Next time I'll take some of the leftover egg whites, whisk them with a fork for a few seconds and brush the egg wash onto the pie shell before baking. I've done that in the past with perfect results.

Pina Colada Sorbet

Fantastic! I poured the mixture into plastic party cups to freeze for several hours as individual servings. When I pulled them out they weren't *quite* frozen...so we poured rum on top, stirred and drank up! DELICIOUS! With or without the rum. ;)

This was delicious but the recipes with less mayo and sour cream are better I must admit. This made way too much dip topping for one pizza and not quite as good as the recipes with less mayo & sc

Grandma's Corn Pudding

This was fantastic! Took it to Thanksgiving for 18 and everybody raved. I agree with several other reviewers, too eggy, my solution was to double the whole corn and it was perfect. Came out perfectly golden brown too.
