Seafood Chowder
My Dad loves seafood chowder, so this recipe has become a staple in our house. I double the recipe, and following some of the other reviewers, I use frozen corn instead of canned, use extra garlic, and use all the juice from the canned clams. I also add ~3 tbsp fish sauce (for a double recipe) and paprika and garlic salt to taste. I use whatever seafood I have/what's on sale, but today's batch was particularly good: 2 cups thawed scallops, halved, 4 small haddock fillets, cubed, 1 can salmon, 1 can crab, 1 large can baby clams. Some shrimp would have been good too.

Gramma's Date Squares
Very tasty! I omitted the sugar from the date filling, and could have put less in the crust. I doubled the recipe and put it in a 9 x 13 pan, but this was too small, as it rises quite a bit. Like another reviewer suggested, I baked the crust for 15 minutes before putting the filling and topping on. Delicious.

Applesauce Oatie Cookies
These were excellent! I followed the recipe except I used 1/4 cup sugar instead of 1/2 cup. The second batch I left in the oven for 12 minutes until they were a bit more puffy and that was better. A good recipe, satisfies a sweet tooth without being overly sweet.
