Hong Kong Style Egg Tarts

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
i'm so glad i stumbled upon this recipe! egg tarts are one of my favorite dishes of dim sum and now i can make them at home! i didnt have tart pans so i put the dough into a cupcake tin. it worked well except i made the crust too thick so there was too much of the crust and not enough eggy goodness. can't wait to make these again.

Spicy Eggplant

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2010
I made this dish for the first time for a dinner party. The flavors were fantastic! The only problem was that I didn't cook the eggplant long enough so it was a bit bitter. Still, some of my friends (who don't like eggplant) raved about how much they enjoyed it! I can't wait to make this dish again.

Chicken Satay

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
this is a great recipe!! i eyeballed the proportions for the ingredients because i was too lazy to follow exactly - but it tasted great. instead of cubing, i cut thin strips about 3 inches long and put two to a skewer. cooked super fast and looked like restaurant-style satay. thanks for the great recipe!

Vanilla - Chocolate Powdered Sugar Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2010
So easy and so tasty!! Never buying store-bought again. The mixture was dry and messy when I first tried to use my hand-mixer so I added a few drops of milk and whisked the mixture by hand a few times before using the electric mixer. Turned out great, but admittedly a bit too sweet. If you don't have a stand mixer, soften the butter a bit and whisk the mixture by hand for a few strokes before using the hand-mixer to avoid a white powdery mess!

Four Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2010
This recipe worked well the first time I made it! I used more half and half and some extra cheese, and only one egg so it wasn't too dry. I didn't do the cheese/butter sprinkled on top but next time I think I'll sprinkle grated cheese and bread crumbs on top for a crunch.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
i used butter because i dont eat pig products and wasn't sure if vegetable shortening was an acceptable substitute. the cookies came out flat and really fell apart. the oats didn't seem like they cooked enough either. not sure i would try this recipe unless using crisco would produce the results that people are raving about :)
