Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2010
My husband made a variation on this. He let the fish marinate in italian dressing for just about 10 minutes. Very yummy

Best Beef and Broccoli

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2010
This was good. I used leftover homemade cream of broccoli(the one from this website) I think it would be good with added ingredients as well, such as garlic and carrots slices. I tenderlized the meat via mallet first. I served it over white rice.

Baked Tomatoes Oregano

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2010
Good flavor. I used italian bread crumbs so I lessened the amount of other seasonings. Think it might help to cook at a higher temp.

Moong Dal with Spinach

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2010
I made something similar after talking to my indian friend. I used serrano peppers instead of chile and I couln't find the curry leaves and didn't want the asafoetida. But very good and will make again my way. I served it over basmati rice and ghee.

Moong Dal

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2010
I spoke to my Indian friend and she said that you don't usually use jalapeno in dahl, you can add serrano peppers. Also the split peas will take much longer to cook about 1 hour or so and you will have to keep adding water. You can also cook them in a pressure cooker and that will shorten the cooking time. You don't have to use the Asafoetida. I also thought that adding a little garam masala at the end is good.

Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2010
It was ok. My kids loved it but hubby and I thought that it could have used lots more cheese and I already used more than what it called for. I did use skim milk and whole wheat pasta if that makes a diff. My husband doesn't really care for mac and cheese anyway though, it was the first time in over a year since we had any.

Chiliquilla

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2010
very yummy! I made a few changes, first I used flour tortillas because that is all I had, second I used only about 1/2 the amount of butter and third I made my own enchilada sauce (the texas style one found on this website) We will have again for sure.

Black Beans, Corn, and Yellow Rice

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2010
This was good. I used brown rice instead of package rice and I added a lot more cumin and added chopped tomato as well. Then to my own bowl I added dried chopped red chili pepper and cilantro and my husband added just the chili pepper. We all (including my children)added shredded mozzarella cheese on top. I am sure it would be just as good the way it was written. Would be good served with tortilla chips or as a side with enchiladas. It would be good with ground beef added as well.

Kung Pao Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
wow this is spicy! But good!!!!! My husband said I have finally got it hot enough for him. You could easily use less chili paste to lessen the burn for those that can't take it that hot. I used sambal oelek chili paste ( the one with the roaster on the label. The recipe is nice because you don't marinade the chicken in the chili paste only in the non-spicy marinade, so I took the kids portion of meat out before adding the spice. We will have again soon!!!! I served it with jasmine rice

Pork Tenderloin in Bourbon

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
yummy! I too left the remaining marinade in the pan with the pork. I used part of a whole pork loin (that is what I had. They are a lot cheeper. We cut them into meals{4 servings each} before freezing. If you cook it right it can be just as tender as tenderloin)

Alfredo Primavera

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2010
yummy. I used broccoli and a green bell pepper and generic alfredo sauce. I also used wide egg noodles because I had them leftover from the day before. I also added some paramasan cheese at the end. We all loved it. My husband and I also added a little crushed red pepper to some of ours for a little spice but it was yummy without it too. Will make again for sure.

Easy Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2010
This was good as written but thought it needed a little bit more. I did use skim milk (because that is all we drink) and 98%fat free cream of mushroom soup (again that is what we use) and light sour cream so that may have made a little difference in the lack of richness in flavor. I also added some peas like I always do with stroganoff and some black pepper just to give it a little more flavor. But over all a good recipe.

Very yummy. I didn't have any dried minced garlic so I used 1/4 tsp of garlic powder instead. Don't think I will go back to using package seasoning.

Pork Medallions with Sauteed Apples

Reviewed: May 15, 2010
yummy. My husband and I loved it. I made this to serve my husband, 4 year old, 2 year old and myself. We had leftover pork of course but no extra apple. My kids didn't like the apple topping for some reason. We will make again.
