This recipe was super easy! I made it for an Asian food day. The mochiko was kind of hard to find but I called around to a few oriental grocery stores and had no problem finding it that way. I don't have anything to compare this to because I had never even heard of it before yesterday, so I don't know if it is better than other Mochi recipes. I followed the recipe but added about 1/2 C. more coconut because I usually love coconut. Overall I thought it was good but a little too sweet. If I made it again I would probably reduce the amount of sugar to maybe 2 C. and use unsweetened coconut. I would also use Rapadura sugar rather than white sugar just because it is more flavorful and less unhealthy. But even with the sweetness, I still thought it was yummy. And no one else who ate it seemed to have a problem with the sugar, so maybe it was just me.
