Divine Hard-Boiled Eggs

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2013
I have used this method to cook eggs for over 30 years, it is the best and fool-proof. I have always called them Hard-cooked Eggs, because there is no boiling involved. Also, living at a high altitude (5,000 feet) , I leave them in the hot water 30 minutes, and they have always been perfect. It took me a long time to figure out that older eggs work best as some other reviewers mentioned. Basic tips like this one are so appreciated. Thanks for posting. Bobbi Marie

Easy Swedish Meatball Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2012
I love the simplicity of this recipe. I am legally blind, so in order to make things even easier,I have made up several seasoning blends from this site. In this dish I used my own Swedish Seasoning Blend.. It consists of 2 tsp Sea salt; 1 tsp each: allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg & fresh cracked black pepper. I use 1 tsp for 4 servings in a recipe replacing all other seasonings. and with that change this was a 5 star for us. Bobbi

Slow Cooker Party Mix

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2010
I followed the recipe other than, I used the butter-flavored popcorn oil in place of butter. No melting the butter:) We love it. What a snap to make this way! I am planning to use this Slow Cooker method for all of my Chex@ Party Mixes. Thank you so much for posting it

Bachelor's Creamy Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
This was perfect. I was trying to duplicate a Pumpkin Soup we had in Japan several years ago. they served it in a flat soup bowl with 1 crouton on top; very elegant. My only changes were substituting lo-sodium chicken broth in place of water, and Lactaid milk in place of cream (which I always do because of an intolerance). It turned out delicious. Exactly the savory flavor I was looking for, nothing like eating Pumpkin Pie Soup. I will double the recipe next time. Oh yes, and I cooked it in the Slow Cooker 4 hours as others had suggested, I believe that melded the flavors nicely. So easy, so good. Thank you so much.

BLT Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2010
Thanks so much for this delightful recipe. It is easy to make, and a refreshing change from other pasta salads. And best of all the family loved it! Also thanks, reviewer for the tip to just add a little water if it dries out in the fridge, that works nicely. Also, I didn't change a thing.

Oven Fried Chicken III

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2010
I am 81 and have been legally blind for about 10 years. I love to cook, and use recipes with the least ingredients and simple instructions. This is a wonderful basic recipe. I have used it for years, but have now incorporated my pre-mixed seasonings .usually from this site) using Greek Seasoning for this one. And over time have opted, instead of just mayo, to mix 1/2 cup Miracle Whip, 2 TBLS milk and 1/2 tsp each garlic and onion powders, which has become my favorite brush-on paste. Nice recipe, tanks for posting. Love all of your comments. Even though I changed this recipe, I still think that it deserves a 5-Star rating. Bobbi J
