Date Nut Pinwheel Cookies II

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2013
Great Recipe! Just like Grandma's and I did mine like she would have and not used waxed paper to roll the dough onto. Just a well floured counter-top where the dough will slide on and not stick, fill, roll, then refrigerate overnight or freeze to set up the date filling. Slice and bake.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies IV

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2012
Awesome recipe! One more good hint is to soak the raisins in the baking soda, spices and butter....and I do melt the butter, let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes to ferment a little, refrigerate until butter stiffens. Continue with recipe. Use butter and not margarine and rolled oats, not quick cooking as the previous reader suggested.

Best No-Bake Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2010
I am a High School Foods teacher and i have used this recipe with my students. One thing I can offer to the folks who had a hard time getting the recipe to set up is to tell you what I tell my students. Your saliva will break down the protein in the cream cheese and the whipping cream and will not allow the product to set up. No licking the beaters or sneaking fingers into the mixing bowl! If you start over and have not completely cleaned all utinsils and equipment the same thing will happen!

Rice Pudding I

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2010
Great Recipe! Some suggestions after making this..use short grain rice because it is sticky. Long grain rice stays separated and may cause the separating of the eggs that some reviews mentioned. Also, if your rice and melted butter are too hot the eggs will begin cooking before you get the dish in the oven. Temper the eggs ( adding beaten eggs to just a small amount of rice and milk, then add to the rest of the ingredients) I also used only one cup of sugar since the raisins can be very sweet in a baked recipe.

Kelly's Butterscotch Pudding

Excellent recipe. Use real butter and even better with slightly less sugar and only two egg yolks.

German Baby

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
We call this a German Apple Pancake. You can bake this in a glass pie dish with slanted sides and it will become like a giant mushroom cap. Be sure you leave space in your oven. May need to move the oven racks around. Without the sugar, we Germans also fill this shell with roast beef and gravy.
