Tote Bag
About this Cook
Married 40 years to my Sweetheart. Work full time. Just started a small specialty sewing business (tote bags, baby quilts, etc.). I am also military retired.
My favorite things to cook
No favorite that I can think of. I love reading the Recipe Exchange. I've gotten so much good advice. Can't wait to get into the kitchen again. Oh, so many recipes, so very little time!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Got to think on this. My cooking traditions change each year it seems.
My cooking triumphs
I ran across a recipe for Mincemeat Cheesecake pie. It is a hit everytime I make it at Christmas time. Before I made it I hated the thought of mincemeat, now I love it, this way at least.
My cooking tragedies
When I was a newlywed, I made spaghetti. Not so difficult but found I didn't have any tomato sauce or paste. I found a bottle of homemade salsa that my mother had given me. I thought that would be good. Had onions and stuff already in it. My poor husband poored down sweat as he was eating. He got it down, but asked if I wouldn't make that again. I myself couldn't handle it. Never did I think it would be so HOT!!!

Sarah's Rice Pilaf
I loved it. Was perfect with my baked chicken. So easy and fun to make.

Easy Paella
I used freshly made chorizo which made the dish very spicy. It was very good but way too much for me. I left out Saffron as I didn't have any. This dish really makes a lot too!
