Taco Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2012
I was excited to try this as I love tacos and LOVE crescent rolls . I did add a few things. First I added chopped onion to the ground beef as it cooked. When meat was done and seasoned with taco seasoning I added corn I had just fried in a pan as well as a small jar of salsa . My first few bites I thought it wasvery tasty . After a few more bites I realised I don't care for the sweetness of the crescent rolls with my tacos. One daughter felt the same about the crescent roll flavor , another daughter (who doesn't care much for tacos due to a slight dislike of ground beef) liked it BECAUSE of the crescent roll sweetness , and my 3rd daughter just liked it. Next time I may try it with pizza dough as another reviewer suggested , I also think I might add a layer refried beans as well. Overall it was tasty.

Boneless Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2011
After attempting to make these on my own with no recipe and failing miserably, I was happy to learn the trick is double coating them ... These were very tasty ..though I must admit I cheated a little ... right next to the Franks Red Hot in the store I noticed Franks Wing Sauce ... so I used that instead of blending the hot sauce and butter .

I was skeptical , and I'm not a huge fan of chicken, but this was VERY tasty. Everyone loved it kids and adults. I followed the directions exactly .

Tortellini Bacon Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
This was a hit ...but just a little too sweet. As I just read through the reviews I saw someone else felt the same and thought of maybe trying it with Creamy Caesar dressing ...I thought exactly the same thing ... but I may have went a little heavy on the dressing , so will try again. Great base though!

Uglies

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2011
I am simply amazed at how good this was. I saved it to my recipe box a while back while looking for ground beef recipes ...I came back to it and thought (why did I save this ...yuck) ... but reading the reviews I decided to make it ...made it last night and all 7 of us in my house LOVED them. They are so tasty and this a great cheap and easy meal. I did find that after rolling out the biscuits 15 minutes was a little long , my biscuits were a bit too brown and crisp ...so the next batch I did for 12 and they were perfect . Will make this many more times!

Open Face Mozzarella Sandwich

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
Delicious and refreshing dish. The only thing I would do differently is maybe chop up the fresh basil to be sprinkled and used sparingly. I love Basil but this is a strong dose of it as a whole leaf on a sandwich.

Slow Cooker London Broil

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2011
I made this using London Broil .... while this was very tasty , and I would make it again due to the rave reviews from my husband and kids, I would call my end result "stew" ... Using London Broil 8-10 hours is way too long ...I cooked it for 7 hours and the meat literally broke apart as soon as you touched it. With carrots and potatoes this made a very savory stew. We liked it!

Chicken Fajita Melts

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2010
Great meal ...though I must admit to doing it a little differently ....I omitted the tomato juice (due to some reviews that said the bread was soggy) and since it is titled "Fajita melt" I couldn't see using a taco seasoning when right next to that in the grocery store is Fajita seasoning ... so I used fajita seasoning ..... VERY tasty ... husband and kids loved it , and requested I try it with steak next time.

Bacon Wrapped Pork Chops in Zesty Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2010
Very flavorful ... my only suggestion would be to reduce cooking time slightly ....they were very tender but just a tiny bit dry after the full 6 hours, and I used thick boneless chops ... But the kids liked it , and my husband and I LOVED it!

Sausage Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2010
DEFINITE KEEPER! .. Followed the recipe "almost" exactly ...the only difference was I added my own preferred seasonings and I also threw in a jar of roasted red peppers since for my family I was pretty much doubling the recipe anyway... I agree with a previous reviewer that it's a lot of liquid I had to cook off for a while ...so I would use less liquid next time ...but everyone LOVED this and it reheats well also.

Hamburger Skillet Supper

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2010
The idea of adding veggies to this seemed kinda gross to me .... we needed a fast meal and I had taken out ground beef not sure what I was going to do with it. I followed another reviewers advice and did add Cream of Mushroom soup. Surprisingly this actually tasted really good ... not real attractive to look at but tasty. My husband and kids liked it.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: May 4, 2010
My family LOVES this. This would be a 5 star except I made a few changes ..... FIrst I doubled the recipe. 2nd I season the chicken breasts generously with salt pepper, and garlic powder upon putting them in the slow cooker. 3rd I used Cream of Chicken AND HERB soup so it would be more flavorful ....and the most important change I couldn't imagine putting all those yummy ingredients together and then adding water ....so I used several cans of chicken broth instead and then just a little water to get the meat covered. Very tasty ... there are never any leftovers.

Slow-Cooked Steak Fajitas

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2010
I gave it 3 stars for the flavor ...I just used salsa also ... Im feeding 5-7 at all times so flank steak is a very expensive cut of meat when you consider it shredded completely and fell apart in the crock pot ....cook time is too long , and a slightly tougher cut of meat would be better for this recipe ....flavor was good though ...will try again EDIT!! ...Tried again with 2 sirloin steaks , added 1 jar of salsa to steak , sliced onion and sliced pepper ...again use fajita seasoning if you want it to taste like Fajitas ....after a few tries I figured out the problem for me with this recipe was the cut of meat should be a little fattier and the cook time in recipe is way too long ....after 5 hours the steak was still in strips but very close to being cooked to the point of shredding ...so Sirloin steaks and 5 hours makes it perfect for us ...

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2010
My family loved this ....even the picky eaters .... I have a large family so I pretty much tripled this recipe .... the only thing I did different was I seasoned the meat with our preferred seasonings and I used "Cream of Mushroom and Garlic" soup instead of just Golden Mushroom or Cream of mushroom ....this was very tasty and leftovers reheated well.
