Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2011
i love love love this recipe!!! i make this bread all of the time. i mix the brown sugar and butter to get the sugar to properly dissolve before adding the eggs then adding the wet mix to the dry mix. then i add my bananas - i've found that 3 bananas make the best tasting bread for my family.

Chocolate Surprise Cupcakes

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2011
i don't know what i did wrong, but I followed this recipe to the T - i tried the batter before hand, and it tasted way too floury for me so i added a bit more sugar - like other suggested. it still tasted off so i decided to make a couple just to see if the cream cheese filling made a difference - instead of cupcakes (i didn't have any paper cup liners) i put them into souffle cups. No one in my family liked these - which is weird because of all of the rave reviews. I'm not making these again

Chocolate Crinkles II

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
So good!!! I made 2 versions of these: 1 with powdered sugar & the other with white sugar. Both were delicious: the powdered sugar ones were nice and moist & the white sugar cookies ended up with a crunchy outside & fuggy center. Next time I'm also going to try making these without any sugar topping & then turning them into chocolate woopi pies with frosting sandwiched between 2 cookies.

Spritz Cookies II

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
I followed the directions to the T & came up with a VERY thick dough - I was fighting with my cookie press the whole time until I just gave up. The cookies that I did make were very plain tasting to me & way to heavy. I like butter cookies but these were just too plain for me. I think that if I am to make these again I will only do 2 cups of flour next time & that should thin out the dough enough to not have to fight with the cookie press. I might also try to use the whole eggs instead of just the yolks.

Double Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2010
FABULOUS RECIPE!!!! I made this for a Halloween party and it was a huge success! I doubled the recipe to make sure I had enough, I ended up with about 2 cups of bruchetta left at the end of the night. After doubling the recipe I did add a couple extra cloves of garlic. I made it in the morning, which gave it all day to really set in and let the flavors develop, which made it absolutely wonderful. I would even suggest making it the night before - it would be perfect the next night! I used block mozzarella, as suggested by other reviewers, cutting it in 1/8 inch slices. I placed the mozzarella on the bread and broiled it for a couple of minutes just until the cheese melted. Then I simply placed everything out and allowed people to put the bruchetta on themselves, it prevented the bread from becoming soggy. This will definitely go into my normal rotation.

Donut Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2010
This would'e been a 5 star, but to me they were too sugary on the outside. I just halved the sugar mix & just sugared the tops of the donuts. My family LOVED these! Very addicting! My second time making this I didn't have enough white flour so I used wheat flour & you couldn't taste the difference. I will definitely do it that way from now on.

Linda's Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2010
This was my first lasagna it was fabulous! Made my own Lasagna noodles using the recipe "A farewell to basil fettucine" for my first attempt at pasta. I used turkey meat instead of ground beef since we're not a red meat family. Plus I used ricotta cheese instead of cottage, but I think next time I'll try the cottage cheese since my mom makes lasagna with a cottage/ricotta cheese mix. I LOVE garlic so I also chopped up 5 cloves of garlic and sauteed them with the onions instead of doing garlic powder & it didn't come out wicked garlicky. With the basil noodles in this recipe all my family could say was 'YUM'!!

Cherry Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2010
One of my family's favorite recipes! We have this at least once or twice a month - sometimes more! The kids love helping on this one - the 2 year old loves to pull the stems off the cherries while the 8 yr old shreds the carrots :) We use Romaine lettuce since it creates more of a sturdy scoop to hold the mix without fear of it falling to pieces. I also use Agave Nectar instead of honey, love the taste of Agave Nectar! I also have some people that don't eat chicken, so I made the mix, and before adding the chicken I put some aside and served that with shredded Salmon. (Doing this though you'll have to make more of the cherry mixture.) I didn't mix it with the fish before serving, that would make the fish soggy. Even our little 8 year old veggitarian who hates eating dinner LOVED this dish with the salmon.

Wine Fondue

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2010
This was a good recipe. When making the recipe I ran into a couple of hiccups. First: I didn't have a cinnamon stick, so I used about 1 tbsp of ground cinnamon. Second: I didn't have garlic salt, so I used 1/4 tsp garlic (that was chopped and dried). My last hiccup was - since I didn't have the proper fondue pot I cooked the chicken in the wine mix on the stove until ready then I strained and served over jasmine rice.
