Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

This was a surprising hit with my family. I would prefer to spice up the burgers a bit. The quantities are enough for two hungry eaters.

Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II

Easy to make and tasty. I also doubled the liquids and added a few chili flakes. I cooked it in the oven rather than the slow cooker.

Chicken Tagine

This is a very tasty dish. I don't usually like any sweetness in my main meal, but this was fine. My wife also liked it but the kids weren't as keen. The only changes made were: breast instead of thigh; tomato passata instead of paste. We needed about double the couscous.

Carrot Cake III

This is a delicious cake. It is moist and has a fairly rich taste. The topping is very tasty. We have made it with walnuts instead of pecans and don't notice much difference.

Byrdhouse Marinated Tomatoes and Mushrooms

Delicious without any changes to the recipe. I had not had tomatoes with mushrooms before (except in a fry up) and was doubtful about the mix of flavours, but they go together well.
