About this Cook
I live in Fairmont WV and have been married to a wonderful man since November 2005. My daughter attends WVU and she is the light of my life. I really enjoy cooking for my family and friends and often take new dishes to the office and invite friends over for cook outs and low country seafood boils.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite thing to cook are various chicken dishes, soups, slow cooker recipes and Italian food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite tradition is using a lot of pretty baskets and different color dishes to serve my finished in. I think my family competes when it comes to decorating for holidays. I love a seasonal set table and matching dishes. It makes everything very pleasing to the eye.
My cooking triumphs
I think all triumphs are when your guest are done and the plates are clean.
My cooking tragedies
I don't have major tradgedies, but I am not a big baker. I don't like to follow recipes to the "T" and you have to when baking. I like to bake pumpkin cakes, or Zucchinni breads. Cakes and homemade brownies are wonderful, but so much work. :)

Brown Sugar Smokies
I made these for Christmas eve last year and will definitely be making again this year! They were the first thing gone from the table. The men really ate them, but the ladies enjoyed them too. So easy to make, but I suggest that you do them a day ahead and let them rest in the brown sugar and then to keep from making a large mess, line your baking sheet or cake pan with foil. The sugar really gets hot and it will stick.

Spaghetti Squash I
This was my first time making spaghetti squash. I really liked it. Recipe was easy to make and very tasty. The Feta cheese gave it a different twist and complimented the noodles. Enjoy.

Marinated Baked Pork Chops
This was such a quick and easy recipe. Had chops and was bored with the same old thing. I did brown mine first and used olive oil because I didn't have any veggie oil. I thought they were terrific. You can really season your chops anyway you prefer. You could even add ginger if you like the extra bang.
