Real Homemade Tamales

I like this recipe very much. In answer to Pat's question, I use parchment paper instead of corn husks and just fold them up. I've done it both ways and actually prefer the paper.

Fajita Marinade I

Reviewed: May 2, 2013
Delicious. I doubled the liquid smoke, because I like a smoky flavor and was cooking indoors. Omitted the lime juice, simply because I didnt have any. Only marinated the chicken and veggies *green and red peppers and onion* a half hour. Came out full of flavor. I will definately use this again!

Creamy Crab and Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2013
This had an ok taste, I doubled the sauce, and it was still dry. I probably wouldn't make it again, but it was worth the try.

Golden Sweet Cornbread

I love this recipe. I too use melted butter instead of oil, but thats the only change I make. I love making it with chili. The sweet with the spicy hits the spot.

Garlic Feta Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2013
I agree with the other posters. Dont need extra salt, its salty on its own. I'm going to add some chopped cukes to tune it down, and am serving it tonight with chicken gyros. It is runny, but I'm not using it as a dip, more like a sauce, so its ok.

Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes with Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2013
My whole family enjoyed this. I left the peas out, because I didn't have any. After reading other reviews, I added one teaspoon garlic powder, and 1/4 teaspoon onion powder. Kept everything else the same. I will keep this in the rotation for sure! Oh, I also baked this at 400 for 1 and 1/2 hours, uncovering for the last 45 minutes. Delicious.

I used seamless crescent dough for top and bottom. followed suggestions to cut the sugar and add an extra package of cream cheese in the filling. I did not do the honey on top. Delicious!

French Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2011
This recipe was so easy to make! I followed the suggestion of others and reduced my flour by a half cup and added an extra half teaspoon of salt. This made 2 wonderful loaves and I'm using the leftovers to make a french bread breakfast casserole. Bravo Jenn, Thanks!!!

Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
THE best crust I have ever made. I was 1/3 cup shy of shortening, substituted 1/3 cup butter for it. It turned out light, flaky and delicious. I used it for a chicken pot pie. Rolled up the remainder cold from the fridge the next day and it baked up perfect again. I will commit this one to memory so I never forget it!
