Cantaloupe Bread with Praline Glaze

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2005
YUM! This was really good. My 1 year old got a taste and now he squeals at me when I open the bread bag, he loves it! My husband- who is pretty sick of homemade bread at this point- is eating it up. I didn't use the glaze, reduced the sugar by 1/2 cup, replaced 1/2c. of oil with applesauce. Very sweet bread with a hint of cantaloupe aftertaste, nice! Turned out great!

Zucchini Cream Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2007
This turned out great. I didn't have any evaporated milk so I used one can of sweeted cond. milk (14oz) and skipped the sugar. It was firm and delish. My husband swore he would hate it and I made him taste it. He said it was great! WOw!

Deep Dark Chocolate Souffle

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2003
AMAZING!!! My first souffle and it was perfect, and easy. I will make this again and again! I made two souffles tonight for ten friends and it didn't last 5 minutes. I prepared some of the ingredients in advance (i.e., pans buttered, eggs separated, cocoa & flour mixed) It took about an hour from start-finish. I wish I had some leftovers I want some more.

Black Bean Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2005
Very good, fresh tasting salad. I skipped the avocado, because I needed it to keep for a few days. Makes alot of salad - enough for 2 families. If you get rid of all the seeds and white inner membraines the jalapeno is much cooler.

S'More Bars II

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
These were amazing. I liked this recipe because it didn't add anything unnecessary. They taste just like smores.....soooo good. I made two batches for a event, and I didn't bring home one single scrap. I used mini chocolate chips, and it worked great, but going to try this time with melted chocolate. Don't be tempted to use more chocolate than called for, it will through off the balance. Yum...you won't be sorry.

Fruit Pizza I

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2003
(Go the easy route and buy the storebought refrig. cookie dough - then its a snap) I made this for a family reunion, and it was a big hit. I found it a little sweet myself, so next time I'm going to cut the sugar in half. Very pretty and easy dessert. Thank you!

Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2004
THESE WERE A BIG HIT, at a recent party we attended. I had to cook them longer than 20 minutes, the bacon must be crisp or they are not good. I also raised the temp to 375 degrees. Thanks for the great recipe.

David's Secret Ingredient Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2004
These were great! My husband really likes them. I used KIX cereal, because the kids wouldn't eat it, and I saw that someone said they had used every type of cereal with this recipe. They seem to cook faster than normal toll house, so watch the timer. Mine were perfectly done in 8-10 mins. I will be making these alot!

Cream of Celery Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2010
My husband thought this was just ok. I added more salt and it was pretty darn good. I cut the recipe down to 6 servings. Our dinner guests loved it and finished every drop. Amazing what a difference a little more salt makes. I added a touch of cornstarch because it was too thin.

Southern Spicy Fried Chicken

This was really good. I soaked the chicken in buttermilk overnight. It didn't seem spicy to me, but it crusted nicely and was very good.

Love this recipe, and have made it several times. If I'm short on time I use jarred sauce, but it's better as written. Its alway a hit with the kids.

Wow these were a hit! My 15 yr old son is smuggling them to school - and he isn't even a big sweet eater. My husband can't stop raving about them. I, myself find them a little sweet, but very good.

These were wonderful, even though I messed up and used refrig. rolls, they didn't rise, but they were sooo good! Can't wait to try them with the frozen dinner rolls. YUMMY!

Broccoli and Tortellini Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2004
I made this tonight for my daughters 2nd birthday party tomorrow. I blanched the broccoli like others had suggested and made 1 1/2 the dressing. 1/3 of the dressing on tonight, the rest tomorrow. I can't wait to serve it tomorrow! Thanks! (Turned out to be a pretty good hit at the party, seemed TOO sweet the next day, but still very good, I'll cut the sugar next time)

Sugarless Pumpkin Pie II

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2006
I am also a gestational diabetic. This was very good. Took longer to cook than stated and could maybe use an extra packet or two of sweetener. The only other thing is that it didn't totally fill the pie crust, more like 2/3 of normal, but all in all very good recipe.

My mother in law made this for me this past holiday and it was great. Her recipe was basically the same, only doubled, and she heated her butter in the pan in the oven. Fabulous!!
