Whole Wheat Honey Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2005
Came out awesome!! I used 1/2 wheat flour and 1/2 bread flour and it was perfect. Wheat, medium crust setting. Great for sandwiches! Slices great with a electric meat knife. Husband is a big fan of this bread!

Portuguese Sweet Bread I

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2004
THis was only my second loaf of bread that I made in my new bread machine. WOW! It was beautiful! I used the lighter setting because of the review I read. It was wonderful. Smelled great too. I follow the recipe almost exactly, except added a touch of vanilla, and baked on light, white setting.

Easy Spicy Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2004
I really didn't think this was going to be a 5 ***** recipe, but alas my husband and I were both surprised. I didn't even have tomatos with chilis, just plain tomatos. I added a can of green beans and a small can of mushrooms. An extra 1/2 cup of rice and one cup water, and a little onion soup mix (about 1/3 of a pack). It was soo good and easy. Great recipe!! Thanks!

Tomato Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2004
THis was pretty good. I don't think my family will specifically ask for it again, but they would eat it if I made it again. I used plain tomato sauce- it's all I had, and added some italian spices to it and a touch of sugar.

Festive Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2004
Sorry, I didn't like this at all. It was too bitter, and not very creamy like good fudge should be. It was easy enough, and maybe if you make it with at least 1/2 milk chocolate, but I found the taste terrible. There has got to be better recipes out there.

Pumpkin Roll Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2004
This was a big hit, my husband loved it. I made a double batch and gave some to friends. Thanks, I'll make this again and again. Like others I recommend baking it a bit longer, I also added 1/2 cup of cool whip to the filling. Very good!

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2004
Wow! Wow!! Wow!!! I used one block of cream cheese (1/3 lower fat) and it was wonderful! My 2 year old got a taste and came running back to me saying, "Mommy, I neeeeed moooore soup." Go figure, my husband said it was ok, but the rest of us loved it. I halved the squash, seeded it, and nuked it for 4 minutes to soften it. It was much easier to peel and cube then.

Double Layer Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2004
This was good. I used "cook and serve" because that's what I had. And added a cup of half & half, because one cup of milk just didn't seem right. I then added the pumpkin (fresh puree) to it after the pudding cooked, cooked it another 2 minutes. I assembled it while the pumpkin was still warm and it set up totally fine. I still like pumpkin pie better, but this was good too.

Baked Miniature Pumpkins

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2004
This was ok, sort of bland. I added some apple butter, and additional spices, but it still lacked flavor. But overall it was good, just plain.

Baked Whole Pumpkin

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2004
This was very good. I actually give it 4-4.5 stars for taste, but the presentation is so nice that I had to give it 5 stars. The custard looked a just little greyish to me, and it took longer to cook than expected. I wonder if anyone has used 1/2 milk and 1/2 cream? I'll make it again, it's too pretty not to.

King Crab Appetizers

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2004
These were great! Everyone raved. I personally thought I should have added some onion powder - meant to, but I forgot. I added a touch of salt and fresh ground pepper, and more onion than it called for - one small bunch to be exact. I also used PF puff pastry sheets, and a round cookie cutter to make the tart shells. Crab flavor is very mild. Very good, easy recipe.

Brie and Cranberry Pizza

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2004
This was good. I used puff pastry, and seedless raspberry jam. It didn't go over all that well at the party we attended. I may not have used enough jam (I used about 1/2 the jar), or maybe I shouldn't have sliced the brie. I don't know, just not as impressed as I had hoped to be over this one.

Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2004
THESE WERE A BIG HIT, at a recent party we attended. I had to cook them longer than 20 minutes, the bacon must be crisp or they are not good. I also raised the temp to 375 degrees. Thanks for the great recipe.

Slow Cooker Adobo Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2004
Mmmm...sorry this just didn't work for us. I really wanted to like this recipe, but it was way too intense. I tasted it just before it was done and it was so strong that I added a can of chicken broth. That helped, but I don't think I'll make this one again. I have to admit it smell really good while it cooked.

David's Secret Ingredient Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2004
These were great! My husband really likes them. I used KIX cereal, because the kids wouldn't eat it, and I saw that someone said they had used every type of cereal with this recipe. They seem to cook faster than normal toll house, so watch the timer. Mine were perfectly done in 8-10 mins. I will be making these alot!

Ken's Spicy Curry Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2004
I thought that it was plenty spicy with 2 tbls of green curry paste. Must be the brand you use. This was very good, something was not quite right though. It was a touch more coconuty than the typical restaurants ones I've had, but something else was missing. My guest had seconds though, so all in all a very good recipe. I added 1/2c. shredded carrots to mine, and left out the bell pepper because my Thai restaurant makes it that way. Don't put in the cornstarch, the sauce is traditionally thin.

California Primavera

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2004
This was ok, we didn't really care for it, and I won't make it again. It seemed more like a tomato veggie slop with noodles. I would rather eat regular spagetti, sorry.

Garlic-Lemon Double Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2004
This was good, but had too much cheese. I liked the lemon, garlic flavor, but just too cheesy for our liking.
