Red Skinned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2005
This was really good potato salad. My husband doesn't like red skinned p.s. but he liked this one. Brought a large bowl of it to a family reunion and it disappeared quickly. I also used a little sour cream (about 1/2) in place of some of the mayo, green onions, and ready made bacon bits (the real ones). Thanks!

Cornbread Salad II

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2005
This was ok. I brought it to a family reunion and people liked it, but I personally didn't care for it all that much. Just a little too dry and bland. Maybe as one reviewer did I should have used less cornbread. It's different though and pretty.

Harvest Rice Dish

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2005
This was good. My picky husband even liked it, and with all that stuff in he, I really thought he would take one bite and hate it, but he really liked it. GOes good with the Ginger Glazed Mahi Mahi.

Buttermilk Honey Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2005
THis was very good, moist bread. The flavor was excellent, but both loaves fell just a little in my bread machine. I love the subtle buttermilk taste. I added a little more flour on the second loaf, about 1/8c. Next time I'll try adding 1/4c or more.

Babka III

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2005
This was good, my first babka. Too much work to make on any regular basis. I also think it should be refridgerated, after only two days (wrapped) it tasted like it may have gone bad. Must be the eggs.

Black Bean Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2005
Very good, fresh tasting salad. I skipped the avocado, because I needed it to keep for a few days. Makes alot of salad - enough for 2 families. If you get rid of all the seeds and white inner membraines the jalapeno is much cooler.

Sweet Corn Tomalito

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2005
This was wonderful! I used butter, and 1/2 sugar and 1/2 honey. I also used canned corn and canned cream corn. Very forgiving recipe with all my changes it was still great. The only problem I have is that you cant eat more than a scoop - it's sooo rich. I served it with the famous "burrito pie" also found on this site. I wonder if it freezes?

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2005
Ok, I'm a fan. My husband said that these were better than cinnabon, maybe because he got one right out of the oven. Next time I will bake at 350 degrees, they got a little too brown at 400. I also used butter instead of margarine, worked fine. What I want to know is if I can freeze them raw, and bake as we use them? Next time I will divide the dough and make 24 instead of 12, they are just too big. Great recipe though.

Throw Together Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2005
I used ground turkey, and diced tomatoes (it's what I had on hand) skipped the noodles and the taco seasoning (again I was out) and we put it in tortillas. It was very good, next time I'll get some taco seasoning it would be much better!

Bread Machine Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2005
These were AWESOME! Followed the recipe exactly and they were soft, and slightly sweet. Perfect dinner roll, the family loves them! I have also used all-purpose flour and it works just as well. If you have trouble with them sticking to the wet towel, lightly spray them with Pam before placing the towel over them. The egg wash really makes them look nice. Thanks!!

Snow Flakes

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2005
These were good, but they didn't do too well in my cookie press. Does anyone have any tips for cookie presses. I hear conflicting things. Some say the dough should be chilled other (including perfect chef tips) say dough should be at room temp. I had trouble with my dough releasing onto the cookie sheet. I tried parchment, no parchment, cold cookie sheet, nothing worked. What's the secret? Any cookie pros out there?

Eggplant Parmesan II

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2005
We didn't like this one. Not sure if it's because we don't normally eat eggplant, but it was sort of mushy and just didn't taste very good. I liked the breaded eggplant better than the finished product.
