Sweet Potato and Ginger Brownies

I fixed this instead of the original recipe, "Golden Yam Brownies" just because of the title. My son's class project required a dish with sweet potatoes and the recipe attached. I didn't want the kids to say, "That's not sweet potatoes!" (which 1 girl did when she read the recipe.) Also, It says to add salt but not listed. It needs 1/2 t. salt. Anyhow, I fixed these as directed except I didn't have fresh ginger, I added about 1/2 tsp. dried ground ginger. (Next time I'll add 1 whole tsp) Also, I used sweet potatoes instead of yams which I don't think you can find them around here anyway nor could you tell a differnce really. Absolutely Devine!!! Reminds me of a carrot cake but 100% better!

Spicy Grilled Cheese Sandwich

I know what you're thinking "a recipe for grilled cheese?" That's what I thought but tried it. It was wonderful! My 13 yr old said it was the best sandwich EVER! I fixed it exactly as stated. Butter does taste better. Next time I'll try using pepperjack cheese and adding garlic powder to my buttered bread like other reviewers said. If you don't have fresh tomatoes, use canned diced tomatoes. I always keep that in stock.

Tim's Green Bean Casserole Extraordinaire

This really is different in a good way. I serve this on special occasions. Be sure not to over brown the butter or it will burn and ruin the whole thing. Serve piping hot, if it gets to cool the swiss will have the yuck factor...like when chicken cordon bleu gets cold.

Pork, Apple, and Ginger Stir-Fry with Hoisin Sauce

Great recipe for the the whole family. I added a chopped onion, half a green bell pepper, sliced, 1 can each of bamboo shoots and water chestnuts, drained. I doubled the ingrediants for the sauce to compensate for the extra veggies. My husband and kids raved throughout dinner. They were all shocked to find out that it had applesauce in the recipe. Will fix again.

Emily's Manicotti

My recommendation to someone who wants to make manicotti is to stick to the recipe on the back of the manicotti box. It is much better. This was the 1st time in 6 yrs of marriage that my husband has told me that a dish was bad. Shells were tough & chewy. Not enough sauce. Needs an egg or 2.

Classy Chicken

Very good, surprisingly my hubby LOVED it! I added carrots instead of zuccinni. Next time I'll add mushrooms and use semi-dried tomatoes for more flavor. The only thing was I had to add extra water at the end and the sauce wasn't pretty but still very good.

Linda's Fake and Bake Chicken

I followed this recipe to the T with the exception of the amount of chicken. I used 2 lbs. of boneless/skinless chicken breast and had just enough coating to coat the last piece. Everyone loved it. The kids were not interested so next time I will take one breast and cut it up into chucks THEN roll it. Then the kids can have Fake and Bake Nuggets! I served it with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli w/ cheese on top. Yum!

Deep Fried Dill Pickles

I've been a fan of these wonderful fried pickles since I serve these at a resturant in Murrells Inlet, SC 17 years ago. I love them best dipped in Dill Dip instead of other salad dressings. I also used flour instead of corn meal.
