Grandma's Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
I was looking for a recipe similar to the one my MIL used to make. I knew the basic ingredients but was unsure of the amounts used. I did not put the cloves in and I used half ketchup and half Heinz Chili Sauce. I think the chili sauce gives it a little more bite. I also added a tsp. of worcestshire sauce. It's a hit with the family!

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
Wow! I was searching for a salisbury steak recipe mainly for my college age son, he loves salisbury steak with gravy. This recipe seemed easy enough and the reviews were pretty good. I made it the other night for dinner and it was a hit, my husband and younger son gave it 2 thumbs up! I followed the recipe except I added a bit of garlic powder to the meat mixture, and I doubled the gravy portion as others had suggested. The patties were very moist with a really good flavor. I was a little worried about the gravy being too tangy with the ketchup/worcestershire sauce as some have said, but I thought it had a great flavor. I can't wait to make it for my other son when he comes home for spring break!

Baked Lemon Chicken with Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2010
I was looking for a recipe for some boneless chicken breasts I had and found this one. Seemed simple enough with simple ingredients. Well, OMG, this was really delicious!! My husband said it tasted like something you would get at a restaurant! I did cook the chicken in a skillet, added some garlic power to the chicken and the sauce. I used a whole can of chicken broth and added another tablespoon of flour. I was really skeptical my family would like it, but it was a hit!!

Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2011
This was delicious! My hubby said I out-did myself, little did he know how easy this recipe was. I used a 12 oz. bag of frozen shrimp and up'd the sauce ingredients a little, other than that, followed the recipe here. This was a winner, will definitely make again!

Flatlander Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
I have been making this chili for several years now and it is always a hit. I am guilty of substituting a couple of ingredients though as recommended by a few posters. I use tomato sauce in place of the juice and diced tomatoes in place of the sauce....everything else the same. This is the best chili I have ever tasted!

Tomato Pork Loin Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2012
I made this tonight and followed the recipe exactly. I thought it was pretty good, had a little kick to it. Next time I may use less fennel. I could tell my husband was trying to figure out what "that" smell/taste was... he also thought it was a little spicy, so I would probably cut down the spice. But personally I liked it.... thought it was something different to do with pork chops. I served it with butter/herb noodles.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2012
I have been making this recipe for over a year now. I used to love my moms spaghetti and meatballs, but she died with her recipe :( I searched here for a recipe I could try and found this one. I stick to the original recipe pretty much, except lately I have been using diced tomatoes just because it's easier than the whole. I also add a pinch of baking soda to cut the acid some (a trick I learned on the internet) and I add some brown sugar to sweeten it up some. I just love the flavor of this sauce! The meatballs always come out perfect, and since they are cooked in the sauce....so easy. I recommend this recipe wholeheartedly!

Angela's Awesome Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2014
I have made this several times and everyone always loves it! It is time consuming though, but worth it in the end. Some have said that you should use corn tortillas, however my family does not like the corn tortillas, and prefer the flour...so this recipe is just right the way it is! I say use whatever type tortilla you like, but definitely give this recipe a try!
