My cooking tragedies
I once nearly burned down the kitchen by leaving frying oil unattended. It was Mardi Gras and all the fire trucks were at parades. After my fire extinguisher ran out, the fire kept reigniting because the stove could not be turned off. All the knobs had melted. I finally doused the fire with 5 pounds of grits!
