About this Cook
Divorced/Widowed. Kid is grown (amazing...) ! Love to bake and cook... enjoy creating whether in the kitchen or craft-y things. Daughter is a Vegetarian...so that's something new for me...tofu! ew! Sounds worse than it really is... I'm learning. Eating way less meat than I ever have before! I love veggies so that has become my focus and meat a side dish, or for seasoning or not at all! I still have Big Mac attacks... they just don't come as often!
My favorite things to cook
Comfort foods.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just good ol'e comfort food at the seasonal times... Ham at Easter, burgers at 4th of July, Turkey at Thanksgiving...etc...
My cooking triumphs
Sopapilla CheeseCake! MeatLoaf. Chocolate Pecan Pie. Cherry Pie. Peach Cobbler. Dressing. Banana Pudding. see?? all comfort foods!
My cooking tragedies
too many to list here... and you would get real bored real quick....! (but they are funny!)

Salmon Patties II
this is wonderful just like it is... I didn't add anything to it... It was like the ones my Mom used to make! I love it and will do it again!

David's Yellow Cake
I don't think I've EVER made a from scratch cake before, but when my Guy told me he wanted a yellow cake with chocolate frosting for his birthday, I couldn't think of any reason not to bake him one. This recipe was VERY easy to follow and turned out BEAUTIFULLY! The batter was a tad thick (almost like brownie batter) so I did add a couple of TBSP more of milk in at the end just so it would be more like cake batter. Over all it turned out AMAZING and my Guy LOVED it and everyone commented how how moist and delecious it tasted and I will most definitely be making this recipe again! Thank you for making such an easy recipe to follow! Now I can't wait to bake another cake...from scratch!! =D

Fresh Broccoli Salad
This is a family favorite! It's so versatile and forgiving.. MY kind of dish! I use my small processor to chop the broccoli and Cauliflower along with a couple of apples the add the walnuts, raisins, onion and whatever else I can think of and put it in a sealable bowl then add the dressing at mealtime... travels well too! Great to take to the office for lunch... Great in wraps... Just a great dish! I haven't had to throw away any unused heads of broccoli or cauliflower with this receipe on hand... And I'm sure the family gets their complete servings of vegetables! Everyone loves it! It's better than the 5 stars... It's the BEST!
