About this Cook
I love to please my family. Cooking for them is a joy, especially when they like it. I like to try new recipes and foods. My mission is to broaden my son's (10 y.o. now 15!) palate with different types of food.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking, when I have the time and energy!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother is a great cook and baker. We had a big meal every day. We all sat at the dining room table at dinner time. When I was little we made fresh pizzas on the weekend, each of us getting our own pie pan to make our own. She made the BEST birthday cakes. Christmas Eve dinner beats all, that is when we ALL get together again.

World's Best Oreo(R) Fudge
I would give this recipe 5 stars, 'cause it is that good, but, in my opinion after tasting, it is way too sweet. Thankfully I cut back by 1/2 cup per a previous review, but, next time I will cut it back by a full cup of sugar (maybe more if it still makes a fudge). The Oreo amounts, in my opinion, are backwards too. I put the whole cup in to the fudge instead of on top and I think I would add more to suit my own tastes. Very RICH, yummy fudge, taken in small doses! lol

Pecan Turtle Bars
These are indeed some yummy treats! I think if it were my recipe though, I'd name it Pecan TOFFEE Bars. I did make changes per reviews. I doubled middle filling, when doin' so, cut back butter by 1/4 only use 3/4 cup for double middle filling. I did add extra 1/2 cup of flour to crust, it seems like it'll be too dry at first, but it'll soak up some butter from the filling...mine did. I doubled the chocolate, BUT, next time I won't, it detracts the great flavor from the filling. Also, I will wait until the pan is cooled from the oven and I will premelt and drizzle the chocolate over decoratively. I also used almonds along with pecans, next time I will add extra, I'm nutty and love nutty :P

Three Cheese Manicotti
I love this recipe! I don't boil the noodles though, I stuff them uncooked then use extra tomato sauce/juice to cook the whole dish. I have added cooked spinach and cooked italian sausage to the cheese mix...yummy! Super easy dish to make.
