Chocolate Crinkles II

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2014
I followed the recipe exactly and they came out delicious! The dough IS very sticky no matter what, but dropping it directly in the sugar and then rolling it into balls worked beautifully. I took another reviewer's advice and baked them 2 inches from the heat and they crackled nicely.

Chocolate Oatmeal Chocolate Chips Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2014
I made these yesterday for my family and for my husband to take to work for his department. They were a hit across the board. My kids loved them, my husband's sailors ate them super quickly, and I agree that they are delicious. I followed the recipe exactly and only dipped the top in sugar as was suggested by one other reviewer. I will make this consistently in the future. Thanks for a delicious cookie!

Biscochitos Traditional Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
I'd actually rate these closer to 5 stars if I made them with lard, but I just don't like the smell of lard, so I used shortening instead. As a native New Mexican, biscochitos mean Christmas to me. I never really knew how my grandma made her version, but these are pretty darn close. Delicious recipe- thanks for sharing! My only piece of advice is to not overwork the dough- biscochito dough is supposed to be crumbly and this one is- it seems like it needs more liquid, but don't add it- the crumbly dough leads to flaky delicious cookies. Also, I rolled mine in the cinnamon sugar after baking since that is what my grandmother always did.

Monkey Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
On average, this last for about 15 minutes from the moment I turn it out onto the plate until that same plate is empty. My family of two boys and a husband start circling the kitchen when they see me making this! I leave the nuts out since my son has a nut alergy, but other than that I prepare it excatly as written. Thanks for a great recipe.

Thank you! Finally a chocolate chip cookie that works at my altitude. My kids are thrilled not to have the flat gross cookies anymore.

Chocolate Crackled Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
Very easy and tasty. I also had the problem of the powedered sugar melting into the cookie and I rolled them in the granulated sugar first. I think next time I will dip them in the powdered sugar after baking while they are still warm. Maybe that will achieve the "snowcapped" look. I will for sure make these again- my kids realy are enjoying them!

Chocolate Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2010
Very yummy. I did not cook the pudding long enough so it came out a little runny, but still completely delicious. Thank you for this recipe! I made this for my dad who loves coconute cream pie and chocolate cream pie and for my two boys and they all ate it up even though it was runny. Thank you for the recipe!

Sausage Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2010
Delicious and easy to make. My adjustments: whole wheat pasta, turkey sausage, added fresh basil and oregano, and chopped crimini mushrooms. Also added a chopped zucchini. My kids LOVED it and ate all the veggies- that's a BUNCH of veggies in one sitting! It's a keep[er in my house!

Chocolate Swirl and Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2010
Very tasty. I followed the recipe exactly, but couldn't achieve the swirled effect- however the flavor is very good! I'll make these again and maybe up the amount of cocoa powder to try to swirl it better!
