Sausage Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2013
I made it as was written with the exception of using fresh spinach instead of frozen spinach. My family said it's different but wasn't really that crazy over it. Maybe if I used heavy cream to thicken the sauce would've made a difference so they would really enjoy it as others have done?

We were all very impressed with this recipe plus how quick it can be made. However, we'd like a bit more sauce next time. Will definitely make it again. Thanks!

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2012
I made it according to how it's written. I didn't have cajun seasoning in my spice rack, so I used the "simple cajun seasoning" recipe from this site. The heavy cream thickened perfectly without the need to use corn starch because I stirred it a little longer because I didn't want to change the taste or appearance at all..My family felt the amount of spices as written was perfect & if I doubled it, it would've been too hot to eat. I did pass this recipe on to my other family members to make since it's basically an easy recipe to make. Thanks!

Peanut Butter Fudge Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
I'm not a peanut butter fan however my family is so I thought I'd give this recipe a try as written. As some stated, the batter was the consistency of a brownie batter...The only problem I had was with the frosting...I wish it was posted to make it during the cooling off period of the cake because for some reason, it didn't spread as I hoped it would...it was a bit on the clumpy side, but overall, it's okbut the peanut butter overpowers the cake & the frosting, so I doubt if I'd make it again.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2011
Very good, & will make it again..I didn't use black pepper, I used white pepper instead..I didn't need to add corn starch as some have written on here because if you simmer this mixture, it thickens itself.

Creamy Chicken on Linguine

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
Made this last nite for dinner & it was a hit. I used one onion which I diced fine due to some complaining of lumps in the sauce & sauteed it with minced garlic & green pepper. Salt & pepper the chicken to taste & cooked the chicken. I didn't add the water, I used chicken stock instead of the cube of crushed chicken bouillon, & I cubed the chicken and mixed it in the sauce along with some roasted peppers in olive oil that I had. I bought a loaf of pane bread to go with this delicious dish. Definitely a keeper!

Chicken Breasts Pierre

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2011
I made this last nite for dinner. The only changes I made because I didn't have boneless chicken breasts, I used chicken tenders & instead of coating the chicken in flour, I used "pan searing flour" because it coats it lightly & the results are much better, & this is what restaurants use when making seafood so you don't get that thick pasty consistency. We loved the spiciness of it and it's a quick, easy, is done in one skillet & have all the ingredients in the house. The sauce thickens to a nice consistency & I made rice with it and green beans. It's fantastic & will definitely make it again!! Thanks so much for this recipe!

Chicken Milano

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2011
I didn't have the sun-dried tomatoes or fresh basil on hand, so I used the dried basil and I had the sun-dried tomatoes in pure olive oil..I dabbed off the olive oil with paper towel and chopped them up as per stated..It had good taste and is a good basic quick meal..Everyone enjoyed the flavor of the sauce. Will make it again.

Fresh Strawberry Pie I

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2011
I made this yesterday for dessert & sliced the strawberries as suggested & laid each slice w/ the berry side up throughout the crust for perfect placement instead of just dumping them in the crust. The recipe calls for 2 tbsp cornstarch..I think if I didn't make the 2 tbsp LEVEL, it would've been a bit thicker. Next time, & there will be a next time, I will put 1/4 tsp more cornstarch in the mixture to be a tad bit firmer, as I would like. I did use heavy cream to make whipped cream for the topping instead of the whipped cream in the can or cool whip. I give this recipe 5 stars because it's a refreshing dessert for these summer days.

Sloppy Joes II

I've been making this same recipe, however, I also add chopped celery & one clove of minced garlic to the mixture with the onion, peppers, and ground beef..then I also add some vinegar to it..it's awesome. My family loves it and everyone who's had it always asks for the recipe..I've been making it for years, so I actually don't really measure the ingredients, I just "eyeball" it.

Comforting Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2010
I baked it in my convection oven instead of the regular oven and it was done in 45min. I did add mexican cheese on it as one poster did and my cheese didn't come out hard as she wrote & I put broccoli in & it didn't come out mushy. I find that my convection oven bakes things a bit faster and we enjoy the flavor/texture of whatever we use it for, much better. This dish is great when I'm in a hurry and is filling.

Lemon Chicken Tenders

Made this dinner tonight & my DH thought it was too lemony & too sweet. I'll have to cut down on both next time. He said next time to add some chicken broth when making it, & will make it again.

Brooklyn Girl's Penne Arrabiata

I made this tonite for dinner. We all enjoyed it..I think the spicyness came out by sauteing the garlic and red pepper flakes together. Is an easy dish to make and none was left in the pot.
