About this Cook
Hi I use to live in Thundery Bay Ont, but I'm now living in Northern Portugal. I was born here, but grew in Canda, but after years of living there, I fanally decided to move back home. I'm very happy living here. I live abou 20minutes away from the ocean which I may add is my passion. It gives me such peace. I have a wonderful husband and 2 great kids, what else could I ask for.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook just about anything, and will try out just about anything once. I'm not at all a fussy eater.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite is Cod fish and lamb. They are a must on special ocasions.
My cooking triumphs
I make a great cheese paté, a wonderful Black Forest Cake, and one heck of Roast Leg of Lamb
My cooking tragedies
I'm not at all good with pastry, or breads for that fact.I just don't have the hand for dough, (as I would put it...) Lol...Lol::.

Green Cabbage Caldo Verde
Hello from Portugal, the traditional caldo Verde, is usually made with Kale leaf, very very finely sliced, here in Portugal we usually don't use cabbage, thats why we call it "caldo verde" which mean green soup, and you get the green colour from the Kale leafa, otherwise your receipe is perfect. On the side we like to serve it with a nice slice of Portuguese corn bread.

Codfish with Cream
Here in Portugal we call it "Bacalhau com natas", a truelly fantastic recipe in my humble opinion, we have a special cheese called "Quijo da Ilha" its a very strong flavoured cheese, but if you cant find where you live, Parmesan will do just fine. Make sure you serve it with a good wine and nice tossed green salad. It makes indeed a lovely meal.
