Terry's Texas Pinto Beans

Reviewed: May 24, 2014
This is an excellent dish. I added ground turkey and BBQ sauce. I serve it with millet which makes it thicker. It is a really great hearty stew and this is my second time making it. We all give it thumbs up.

Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2014
This was absolutely delicious. I also added nuts because I put nuts in just about everything. I used apple sauce because I had no juice and added orange juice to the water. OJ gives it a tangy flavor and I add honey to the finished product. I will try this next with peaches instead of apples. It has sooo many possibilities

Turkey in a Smoker

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2013
Wow! I wish I had this recipe years ago. It is delicious. I don't generally don't care for white meat but this white meat was flaverful. The onion and apple seeped through the cavity and gave them added pizazz. I have an LP smoker and 10 hours was way too long for my 13 pounder. Between 5 and 6 hours was fine.

This was great. I added potatoes to it because I wanted to make it an entire meal. I will certainly have it again.

My Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2012
This is really great! Having read the reviews that said the flavor was not so great I added a package of McCormick Chili Seasoning Mix in addition to the 2 TBS of chili seasoning the recipe specified. I also used spicy stewed tomatoes. (there are many different flavors of them in stores) and it helps when trying to spruce flavors. I served it with elbow noodles, (all out of spaghetti noodles), topped it with a little shredded cheese and onions and voila!! I will definitely have it again.

T Bird's Beef Jerky

Simply delicious. The marinade actually makes this work, and the taste of that comes through even after a day or two.

Bean Soup With Kale

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
Could not get any flavor from this as directed. I would thoroughly cook and season the kale and then add it.

Acorn Squash with Sweet Spicy Sausage

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
This is great. My wife who hates squash actually had two servings! I put cheese on two of the halfs to see if it would make a difference. I think we liked it better without the cheese.

Portuguese Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2011
This is delicious period. I only used four potatoes and substituted two ears of fresh corn (just the kernels cut from the cob). That gave it more of a crunchy texture. I wondered how the vinegar would affect it but it all blended together perfectly. I used hot spicy smoked sausage which made it a bit too tangy. Regular smoked is fine.

Sweet Potato Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2009
This was the first sweet potato pie I ever made and I was surprised at how good it was. Hard for a beginner to mess up. I doubled the recipe for two pies. I would use next time slightly less sugar and use condensed milk instead of regular. This time I used half and half. My wife even liked it and she doesn't like sweets that much!
