Best City Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
All I can say is WOW!! I've been looking for a city chicken recipe forever. It's one of my husband's favorite meals from his childhood (and yes, we're from NE Ohio). This recipe was my first attempt at making this dish and the hubby said it was even better than his mom's! Even my kids loved it. There weren't any leftovers. =) Definitely a keeper!!

Fluffy Pancakes

These are awesome! No more Bisquick for this house! We're a family of 5, so I double the recipe, but I only use one egg (I think they come out kind of "eggy" tasting when you use two).

Pollo Mediterranean

Reviewed: May 26, 2010
This was so yummy! I didn't have regular sun dried tomatoes, so I used sun dried tomato pesto (Gia Russa). It came out awesome! My husband loved it! :)

Butter Snow Flakes

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
These cookies were pretty good, but I do have to agree with those before me and say that the cream cheese and orange zest do NOT compliment each other. Next time I would definitely omit the zest. I also increased the cinnamon a tad, as other reviewers mentioned. The positives of this recipe were that the dough was very easy to work with and the cookies had a great texture. I would give this recipe another try.

Julia's Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies In A Jar

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2009
I only gave this 4 out of five stars because I didn't actually get to bake the cookies. I made these with my 3rd grade class and they took them home as Christmas gifts for their parents. I did change a few things.... I took another user's advice and upped the flour to 2 cups. I then used 1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips and a 1/2 cup of red & green M & M's to make it more festive. I layered it like so: Layer 1: 1 cup flour & 1/4 cup white sugar Layer 2: choc. chips and M&M's Layer 3: 1/2 cup brown sugar Layer 4: 1 cup flour, 1/4 cup white sugar & 3/4 tsp baking soda We found that we really had to pack the individual layers or everything didn't fit. They came out beautifully and the kids had a great time putting together the ingredients!

Ham and Bean Soup II

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2009
This recipe was FABULOUS! Like other users, I made a few changes. I noticed that someone else had said that there weren't enough beans, so I used a pound and a half. It was the perfect amount. Also, instead of using all water, I used 6 cups of chicken broth (a big can) and the rest water. I also let the ham bone simmer in the broth for about 2 hours (w/ a bay leaf) before adding the beans. And finally, instead of finely chopping the onions, I pureed them in my mini chopper. That way, my kids didn't even notice they were there. :-) I omitted the celery. I didn't think it needed it. The whole family loved it! I will most definitely make it again.
