Arnold Palmer

I grew up with my mom making a recipe similar to this, mixing lemonade & ice tea together. I continue to do it to this day. My favorite way to drink ice tea!!!! Been doing it this way for 35-40 years now!!! Yum!

Easy Coleslaw

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2007
A friend gave me a recipe similar to the dressing part. But she used a bag of slaw mixture, added 1/2 c. shelled sunflower seeds. She also used a package of ramen noodles. The "chicken broth" powder was mixed with 1/2 c. vinegar & 1/2 c. oil. The noodles were broken up into small pieces (uncooked) & mixed with the cabbage mixture. The dressing was put on & mixed through last minute. She called it "Oriental Cole Slaw" & almost everyone who has tried it loves it. It is great for outdoor pitch-ins, since there is no creamy dressing to go bad.

Split Pea Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2006
This is the best split pea soup i have ever made! I did substitue a couple things. Since I had a couple cans of chicken broth in the house, I used those & decreased the water by the same amount (approx. 28 oz). And since it is just me & my husband, I didn't want to buy a ham with a bone, so I bought a large slice of ham & cut it into small pieces and added it instead of the bone. Great recipe which I will use many, many times!

Country Fried Steak and Milk Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2004
This recipe is delicious. Even my husband, who is a very picky eater, loved it. The coating on the steak turned out very crispy. In parts of the country I have lived in, it is known more as "Chicken Fried Steak".

This recipe tastes so great and is very easy to make. I made sweet corn cake and mexican rice with it and everyone gobbled it up and asked for more! My husband is a very picky eater and he loved it.

Super Easy Salmon Cakes

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2002
The recipe called for too much cracker crumbs, which took much of the flavor away from the salmon. We ended up throwing half the salmon away. It was easy to fix, but not worth the taste and texture it ended up with. We even used a cheese sauce over it, which didn't help.
