Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2013
I made this for Thanksgiving. I didn't make any changes to the recipe. The instant response from anyone who took a bite was "this is REALLY good!" I took a plate of food to my sick brother in-law and he begged me later that night to bring him some more of those sweet potatoes! Love the recipe!

Luscious Slush Punch

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2013
Loved it! I made it for Father's Day and my husband was fixated on it the second he tasted it. He wants me to give it a 6 star rating. I used 1and a half cups of sugar and agree with other reviewers that it would be perfect with 1 cup.

Pennsylvania Coal Region Barbecue

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2011
Loved it because it was so quick and easy to make. Brought back memories of my grandmother cooking when I was little. I always have wondered why sloppy jo's have never quite hit the spot for me. Now I realize that this is what I was always craving. I followed the recipe exactly.

Loved it and I am not a pot roast fan! Everyone gobbled it up.

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
My husband has been asking me to make a pot roast for the last 14 years of our marriage. I just discovered the slow cooker (late learner). It was fun watching him devour the roast and veggies. He said it was better than his mother's pot roast. Like others before, I used beef broth instead of water and Montreal steak seasoning. The juices were absolutely delicious soaked up in some bread, along with the rest of it. My husband insists that I should make it again.

Easy Peach Crisp II

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
Great and easy recipe. I used extra peaches and it turned out delicious. My husband just informed me that he has finished about half of the dish in the last hour. I won't tell him how much butter is in it. I am sure it's not complimenting his diet.

Minister's Delight

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
The first time I tried this recipe it was entirely too sweet (peach pie filling and yellow cake mix). I bought a new crock pot and wanted a quick inexpensive recipe to try so I made it again. All I had in the cabinet was french vanilla cake mix and 2 cans of apple pie filling. I took the last apple in my fridge and also added it to the filling. Because the recipe was so sweet last time I wanted to cut out some of the cake mix. As other reviewers suggested I added some oatmeal to the mixture. The only oatmeal I had available was two packets of instant apple and cinnamon oatmeal. I don't know if it made a difference but it tasted fantastic! This is an easy recipe that you can fit to your taste.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
I made this bread in mini loafs for Christmas for the staff in my office. I thought it was a cheesy gift idea, however, I got numerous requests for the recipe and more bread. Definitely a keeper!

Slow Cooker Sausage with Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
This recipe couldn't be easier to make. My husband, who loves sandwiches and hoagies, was concerned after eating one for lunch that his brother would eat the rest and not leave him any for dinner. I will definitely be using this recipe again!

Texas-Style Baked Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
I threw this recipe together quickly without any meat, except some bacon bits and it turned out fabulous. My husband and brother in-law loved it with their burgers. They are starting to think that after 15 years of marriage I can actually cook! Great easy slow cooker recipe!

Chicken and Corn Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2009
This recipe was great! I used left over turkey from Thanksgiving. I am not a turkey fan but had to get rid of it. The chili came out delicious. Like others I added kidney beans and black beans with the pinto beans. I also added some diced green chilies. I will definitely try this recipe again with chicken this time.
