Mom's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: May 15, 2011
This was a great starting point recipe. I used 2 cups of the new kraft triple chedder cheese with cream cheese... (left out the velveeta) added a little parm too, some mustard, extra salt, and a little extra milk, and I accidentally used the whole 5Tbs of butter with 3Tbs of flour for my roo... so I didn't add butter to my breadcrumbs for the top. Baked at 425 for 25 min. the bread crumbs came out crunchy, and golden brown. This came out fa-nom-in-al! The BEST mac and cheese I have ever made! Only giving this recipe 4 stars since I changed it up so much... but try it... so good!

Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
I am only giving this one star because the recipe fails to tell you to cook the pudding mixture until thickened. For this reason.... my pie never set! It stayed soupy. The flavor was very good, a bit on the overly sweet side though... but I may try this recipe out again after now knowing what to do and not to do now.

Tender Italian Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
Awesome, and soooo easy! Followed the recipe exactly... and baked on a rack over my pan for a crispy almost fried chicken taste... but baked! Will definetly be making again.

Herb-Glazed Roasted Turkey

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2010
Awesome! Took the advice of some others and used half honey and half karo syrup, and it was perfect. Loved the gravy flavor made with the drippings. My husband didn't like the sweetness of it, but I thought it was by far the best tukey and gravy I have ever had!

Pumpkin Cheesecake in a Gingersnap Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2010
very good cheesecake.... but definetly don't use 6 Tbs of butter in the crust. Way too much, and all it does is spill out the sides and into your oven, or pan below (if you thought to put one there) I would just use 2 or 3 Tbs next time.

Mushroom Orzo

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2010
FABULOUS! Tasted almost like risotto to me... but so much easier to make. Used vidallia onion instead of pearl, and used the chicken stock instead of the water. I think I could go with a lot less butter next time though to make it not so fattening... since my husband and I ate the whole 6 servings easily by ourselves in one sitting with grilled pork chop.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
FABULOUS! My husband was dissapointed when I said I made Zucchini bread instead of banana bread. The next day the first loaf was gone though, and I got a "this is the BEST zucchini bread I've ever had" from my husband. Very moist and delish! Only used 2 cups of sugar and it was plenty sweet, and used probably 3 plus cups of zucchini. Definetly a keeper!

Kalamata Pork Tenderloin with Rosemary

Reviewed: May 23, 2010
I think this recipe has potential. I didn't have fresh rosemary, so I used dried. I wouldn't recomend that. Mine came out a little bitter tasting to, so I had to add sugar. I think if you use the right ingrediants then this would be a really good dish. I definetly will try this again though.

Easy Pesto

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2010
I am only giving it 4 stars because the first day I ate it.. I did not like it all that much, and I couldn't get the garlic taste out of my mouth... but the next day when I reheated the left overs... it was FABULOUS! I did not toast my almonds, and I added some parm, but that was it. I am new to the whole pesto thing, and I love all the different ways you can make it. I definetly will go back to this recipe, but I will heat up the pesto first to cook some of that raw garlic taste out before eating.
