Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2008
It was neither sweet nor sticky, but had an overwhelming soysauce flavor. Won't make again.

Greek Veggie Salad II

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2006
I decreased the vinegar by 1/3, but it was still quite acidic. the taste is great though, just that my stomach was protesting all night because of the amount of vinegar in it.

Stir-Fried Kale and Broccoli Florets

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2006
I got kale and broccoli in my weekly organic vegi pack and tried them in this recipe. The taste is unique but I do like it. Will definitely make again the next time I have broccoli and kale both at the same time.

Waldorf Salad with Walnut Oil Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2006
This was surprisingly good despite my initial skepticism. A good quality walnut oil is a must. Don't substitute!

Lemon Seafood Risotto

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2006
good and refreshing flavor. Hubby found it a little too sour, so next time I'll only use about half the lemon juice. Also didn't use scallop, which I think would've given it a more complex flavor.

Firecracker Fried Chicken Drumsticks

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2006
I will definitely marinate longer next time for more intense flavors, but I really like the coating. I deep fried them and they turned out golden and crispy.

Grilled Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2006
The flavor is really good, however I think the cooking time is way too long. I cut it down almost by half and the breasts were still a bit tough.

Mango Salsa Salmon

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2006
The salmon needs to be seasoned with S&P before placing into the broiler, but otherwise it's really easy and delicious. The skin comes out crunchy and crispy. Very nice.

Spicy Indian Chicken and Mango Curry

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2006
Due to the coconut milk and mango, this tasted more Thai than Indian. It was a little bland as is, so I added some Fish sauce until I liked the taste.

Black Bean and Corn Quesadillas

Reviewed: May 31, 2006
Very easy to make, but surprisingly tastey. I used a four cheese blend instead of Monterey Jack and it added to the flavor really nicely.

Chicken Vicious

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2006
Unless you like drinking white vinegar straight up, this is not for you. I added so much sugar to cover up the pungent vinegar taste but even when the vinegar taste is covered up by sweetness, your nose takes an assault every time you inhale. Thank goodness I cut the recipe in half.

I thought it was very flavor, especially the next day, but hubby wasn't too crazy about it. Said it was too mushroomy.

Make the cream cheese the night before so you can have a nice and quick breakfast the next morning. I used raspberry sauce from the white chocolate raspberry sauce recipe on this site and it was delicious.

Spanish Rice II

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2006
Maybe I'm not doing it right but it turned out soggy and bland. I had to add a lot of seasoning to spice it up, but I couldn't make it less soggy. Won't make again.

Blissful Rosemary Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2006
I had my doubts when I made this. Also didn't think I could secure the chicken with a rosemary sprig. In the end I used chicken thigh for more flavors, and rolled the rosemary in the center and used a bamboo skewer pierce everything together. Make sure you buy really good porscuito and cheese. You won't be sorry you splurged.

Tom Ka Gai (Coconut Chicken Soup)

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2006
When I made this following the recipe exactly I thought it tasted horrible. Then I added lemongrass and let it infuse with the chicken and left out the tumeric (coconut soup should be white). Finally, I remembered when I took a cooking lesson from a Thai chef, she said to always always add sugar when using fish sauce. I forgot the exact proportion by went by taste (had to add quite a lot). Voila! Now it's perfect.
