Paleo Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2013
Oh my goodness this is AMAZING! I only had dark cocoa powder and pure vanilla (not extract) so those are the only substitutes, if you could call it that, that I made to this recipe. I don't think I'll EVER make chocolate frosting any other way again. I LOVED THIS! And so did all of my Crossfit friends this morning!! Thank you for sharing this recipe - I'll never have to feel guilty about 'cheating' again.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2013
I don't like pies but my husband told me I should learn how to make an apple pie. I've made this recipe twice now. He absolutely loves it and it's gone within 24 hours. So easy to make too! Both times I've made it I've used red apples, different types. Last time I made it I used 2 types of red apples and some granny smiths. Hubby's loved it each time.

I will never make meatballs any other way. These were so full of flavor and my kids even loved them! We used them for meatball subs. Making these again for the 2nd time this week.

Chicken Crunch

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2011
This is a good base recipe. There is no way this fits in a 9 X 13 pan though, you need a smaller pan. I used 3 chix breast & cooked them in garlic infused oil, added some garlic seasoning & pepper. Next time I'll add veggies & double the soup/sour cream mixture. I also sprinkled poppy seeds over the crackers before cooking. I didn't have any rice, and next time I will be sure I have some as it needs that extra something. I'm thinking rice might be it. Overall, a good base recipe to build off of.

Swiss Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2011
Eating this as I sit & give it my review. I did change it up a bit as it sounded to me like it needed more flavor. I was afraid it would be to bland as written. I sprinkled the chicken breasts with Tastefully Simple's All seasoning salt, Garlic! Garlic!, and Onion! Onion!. Then I poured the cream of chicken on top, added some minced garlic, covered with shredded Italian cheese (because that's all I had), then I put some Italian seasoned bread crumbs generously on top (I did not measure out 2 cups). I think the end result is delicious! My kids are not fighting me to eat it, they're 6 & 9 yrs old, and I'm going to go out on a limb & say my husband is going to enjoy it when he gets home also. Thanks for a great, easy to make, minimal ingredient meal!

Haunting Hot Chocolate

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
I used dark chocolate cocoa because that's all I had. I also added more of the powdered milk because it looked too watery. I think I will try it next time without adding the extra powdered milk, as it ended up being too thick. Good homemade, easy hot chocolate though. I will try it again.

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
The only complaint I have is that it's REALLY difficult to get out of the crock pot. The flavor is GREAT, it's so moist & yummy, but I had to pick out all of the bones one by one because the meat just fell off of them.....which is what I had expected, just didn't prepare for this, and wouldn't know how to (other then buying a boneless turkey breast next time). We're really looking forward to turkey & noodles for dinner tonight with the leftovers. Glad I got a large turkey breast!

Campbell's® Slow-Cooked Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2011
I have made this recipe several times as it's written. We all LOVE it! However, I have just found it on here & see many people add a bit of BBQ sauce to it, so I'm going to have to try that tonight....as I'm making this for dinner. Have not found it to be too thin of a sauce, except for one occasion. I do use a larger shoulder roast then it calls for, but leave all other measurements as written. My family likes the sweet flavor of it too. This is a very easy recipe, and me & my family love the flavor of it! Have even been asked for the recipe several times from others.

Good Dog Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2010
I'm not sure what I did wrong. The only substitute I made was using canola oil instead of vegetable oil, only because I didn't have veg oil & did have canola oil. I'm sure the recipients of these treats will still love them, but boy where they a pain to roll out! They were so dry & crumbly that I had to add water to them, and even that didn't help all that much. Will possibly try again, but this time around my kids are disappointed because they couldn't really help much. They were going to make them & take them to the Animal Rescue League. They were so excited to be able to help, but couldn't because it was so crumbly. Maybe next time! :-(

This was okay. I'm not a huge mexican rice person, but used this recipe as a side dish with a chicken quesadilla recipe I have.

Vegetable Beef Minestrone

Reviewed: May 6, 2010
My boyfriend liked this okay. I wasn't too fond of it myself. It seems like it needed something, just not sure what. It could be salt - I had to add salt and oyster crackers for it to be edible for myself personally. I will try it again, with some few adjustments to the recipe.

Baked Onion Rings

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
Eh. The flavor was good, but it took a lot of time dipping one ring in the mixtures at a time. So I got lazy and grabbed a whole handful and put them all in the egg mixture & then tried to coat them in the bowl of dry ingredients together. That method is not suggested! :-) I will try these again if I have the time to do one ring at a time - or can think of a quicker way that might work better.

Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
I will never make deviled eggs the "old fashioned" way again! These were THE BEST deviled eggs I have ever tasted. I didn't follow the measurements to a "T", but I did put all of the ingredients listed (substituting Miracle Whip for Mayo). And I used the Fat Free versions of cheese and Miracle Whip. Yummy!! Thanks for posting.
