Squash-Apple Bake

This was yummy! I halved the mace, and added some cinnamon. This was so good, my kids (avowed squash-haters) loved it!

Rich Chocolate Frosting

This made good chocolatey frosting. I read the reviews and increased the sugar and decreased the cocoa, but it still had a very strong cocoa taste. I think if I make it again, I will cut the cocoa to less than half of what it says, and increase the sugar too.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Without a doubt the BEST cake-mix cake I've ever baked! It was so quick and easy, and tasted SO good! Next time I will make it a day ahead of time, as the "leftovers" tasted even better the 2nd day. Thanks for sharing this great recipe!

Cream Cheese Penguins

So cute! I took 40 penguins to a New Year's Eve party, and everyone loved them. I used the egg carton idea to transport my penguins, and they traveled very well. Thanks for the great idea!

Fantastic!!!!!!!!!! Much easier than donuts, and so tasty! I followed the recommendations on decreasing the sugar and oil, and doubled the recipe. Next time I'll have to make even more. These will disappear way too fast!

Buttery Soft Pretzels

I followed the recipe as written, but the pretzels had a very strong soda taste. They were soft and pretty, but nearly inedible. If I make them again, I'll cut WAY down on the baking soda.

Slow Cooker Split Pea Sausage Soup

Although this soup tasted pretty good, it had a very unappetizing color and texture after sitting in the slow cooker all day, plus a layer of sausage grease on top. My family hardly touched it.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Easy and moist. I baked in a cast-iron skillet. Might be a bit sweet for some people, and didn't taste as much corn as I like, but overall a good recipe.

Alan's Pie Crust

Tastes good, but VERY difficult to work with. It took me an hour to roll out 3 crusts. It was crumbly, and stuck like crazy to my rolling pin. Then it split and fell apart when I transferred it into the pie plates. I make pie regularly, but thought I'd like to try something new. I'll go back to my old standby Betty Crocker recipe.

Great Pumpkin Dessert

My whole family loved this! It was gone almost as soon as it came out of the oven. Then I tried making it with a spice cake mix, and I could hardly get rid of it. It just sat, uneaten, for days. I'll definitely stick with the yellow cake from now on!

Yummy muffins. I changed the recipe by using 1 cup of buttermilk in place of the milk, and adding a 1/4 t. of baking soda. Moist and delicious!

Spiced Pot Roast

Great flavor! I didn't have chutney, so used some sugar and vinegar as suggested by another reviewer. It was fabulous, and made a wonderful gravy. I'll definitely make this again. The only thing I'll change next time is to take it out sooner. It was a tad overdone at 3 hours, even though it was a large roast.
