I made German chocolate cake for a work party and everyone loved it. I used a box mix for the cake, but wanted the frosting to taste authentic. I am so glad that I used this recipe. I followed all the ingredients exactly, but cooked it on medium-high heat instead of the recommended low heat. It took about 10 minutes of stirring, but reached the perfect consistency without having to add any cornstarch. My only regret was that I did not make the actual cake from scratch. Definitely use this frosting recipe and be sure to toast the nuts and coconut!!
