Sesame Udon Noodles

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2012
Very yummy. I did follow the other comments instructions and only use about 1/2 of the 'dressing' for the udon.

Slow Cooker Chicken Chili with Greens and Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2012
Pretty yummy and a great way to use kale! I used "rotel" tomatoes instead of plain diced, fresh kale instead of frozen, threw in some garlic with the onion, no cream and whatever chili-type seasonings I had laying around (cumin, paprika etc). Came out great. But noticed the kale ended up soaking up the flavors more than anything else (kale was pretty spicy, while broth and beans mild).

New Mexico Green Chile Breakfast Burritos

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2012
Normally don't rate a recipe unless I try it as it's written first, but I honestly just used this for the hatch pepper sauce! I made a breakfast casserole and put the sauce both on it and in it and very fun and yummy!!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2012
sister made it at my house, came out great, but we had turned the oven up too high, so the edge were a little dark and the center still gooey.

Chicken Breasts Pierre

Reviewed: May 21, 2012
Per some of the other reviews, I threw in some red onion with the melted butter and some red wine with the water. But I accidentally put in Cheyenne pepper instead of chili powder (I was thinking 2 teaspoons of red pepper was a lot)…even with my faux pas it had great flavor although it practically burned my lips off. My brother-in-law (he likes the spicy stuff) LOVED it and took home all the leftovers. I can't wait to try it without all the heat!!

Dupre Family Chicken and Sausage Gumbo

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2012
I cheated and used boneless chicken breasts and premade roux (about 8oz). I was worried the breast might come out dry but they were super moist and easy to shred, I used andouille sausage (of course) and threw in a bay leaf, thyme, basil and some minced garlic when I threw in the sausage because I love SPICES!

Very yummmy!! I used lime juice instead of lemon as that's just what I had. My sister asked if I had put the rum in yet when she tasted it, it's that smooth!!

Guinness® Bread

Holy crud this is AWESOME!!! Super easy to make, I thought it was too runny and wouldn't come out, but it was perfect, moist inside with a thick yummy crust. I made a honey cinnamon butter to go on it and everyone RAVED over it!!

Chicken and Coconut in Banana Leaves

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2012
I couldn't help it and added a little minced garlic with the ginger. I made it for a friend who grew up in PNG and he said it reminded him of home but didn't taste like the food in PNG because when he was there the food wasn't very flavorful (I blame the garlic). I thought it was tasty and fun (hard to wrap with banana leaves though). I used the extra coconut milk to boil with the rice, gave it a cool flavor.

I used boneless chicken breast and used cajun seasoning instead of just salt and pepper, added a really nice zing!

Green Grog

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2012
pretty good stuff. I made half with rum and half without for my "green" new years party. Both were gone before midnight! I think the rum really added something to it. It's a bit sweet for drinking all the time, but great for parties!

Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2011
Tasty and EASY. Added generic brand taco seasoning packet, salsa verde, one bunch of cilantro and the juice of 2 limes, threw in some extra onion I had. Made it for a Bunco taco night and got asked multiple times for the recipe.

Tasted great (used flavored olive oil) but man, it's a lot of work especially when they get eaten right off the plate before they even have time to cool!!

Very good. Threw in some garlic, ginger and lemon grass to the broth. And a single person udon soup mix/noodles I had in the closet. Everyone loved it and it took just a few minutes to whip up!
