About this Cook
I come from a family of wonderful cooks. I've had aunts & uncles on both sides of my family who have owned their own restaurants. My Uncle Bob taught me how to cook many things including the original recipe for my salmon patties and "dump cobbler" (same as peach cobbler recipe). My Aunt Simmone used to fix me Grandma Doris' Swedish Meatballs and lots of delicious pies for their restaurant; I think Uncle Happy often made their Boston Baked Beans.And of course, my Mom was a wonderful cook & baker. My favorite was her yeast rolls that she would make into knots & braids. I think most of my east coast family are experts on how to grill swordfish steaks.

I finally succeeded in making two of my favorite pies - rhubarb(Fresh Rhubarb Pie By: Carol) and sweet potato(Sweet Potato Pie I By:COUGAAR) and cake from scratch(Buttermilk Pound Cake II By: Cathy).

Cuban Midnight Sandwich
I grilled the bread first, then added the meats, swiss cheese and toppings (Italian-mayo on one side and mustard on the other. After putting the sandwich together, I put it in the microwave on high for 30-20 seconds. Delicious!!

Mushroom Pork Chops
I fried the chops in Crisco. Oil is healthier, but doesn't brown as good. Used 2 cans of soup with" a little" milk, a small container of fresh mushrooms and one slice of red onion minced. Tender and delicious!!!!!!!
