Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2008
This was so good, we added a pound of bacon and omited the butter to fry the onions and just fried them in the bacon grease before discarding the grease. My husband decided this was the best soup he has ever had.

Cake Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2008
I cut this recipe in half, because I didn't need 72 doughnuts and it worked really well! I came out with about 3 dozen really delicious doughnuts and doughnut holes! My family loved them, and I loved the fact that I didn't have to chill the dough before making, so I didn't have to think ahead. This is a recipe that I can just grab and make in the morning, if we're in the mood for doughnuts!

Baked Ham

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
This was one of the best ham recipes I have ever made. My husband claims it's better than his mothers! The house smelled incredible all day too! I don't think I'll ever need to search for another ham recipe again.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
Phenomenal! Can't beat it, it is my new go to soup recipe when I don't have a ton of time or when I have leftover ham! A+

Spiced Pecans

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
I doubled the sugar and eggs, just because I like lots of coating! I omitted the cloves at the suggestion of others. These are the best and easiest I have made, and will be making them again for the holidays!

Fettuccini Alfredo II

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2009
This was good, but it was pretty bland for our family, even with all the garlic. I'll make it again, but I'll definately be adding more seasonings to it!

Whipped Cream Biscuits

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2008
I had a hard time getting this to come out right. I couldn't get a "biscuit" consistency without adding additional liquid. They tasted very much like baking soda biscuits, without a ton of flavor. We had them with sausage gravy which helped make up for the lack of flavor. I doubt I'll make them again, but they were okay.

Baked Sweet Potato Sticks

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2011
These were great! Even my husband who hates any type of "traditionally sweet" sweet potatoes loved these! Will be making these as a great side dish to many meals!

Tender Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2011
These were fantastic. I substituted grape nuts, becuase it is what I had on hand and it gave them a little extra fiber. But I don't think it changed the taste too much! My kids flipped over these and I will be making them often!

Whole Wheat, Oatmeal, and Banana Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2010
These are fantastic! I omitted the milk powder (simply becuase I didn't have any on hand) and substituted applesauce for the oil and they were wonderful. My kids (who hate anything wheat) devoured them and actually raved about them!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2010
This was an excellent bread! I only had about 1 3/4 cup of bananas, so at the the advice of others, I added applesauce to make up the difference. Definately let it sit overnight, to let the flavors blend, good the first day, FANTASTIC the second day!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies III

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2010
This was a great recipe! I used it as a "skeleton" recipe, then made some changes just on what I had available! I didn't have chocolate chips, instead I had toffee bits. So I omitted the chocolate chips. Instead of a chocolate cookie, I ended up with a vanilla cookie with toffee bits in it, then followed the rest of the recipe exactly. They were fantastic! Sweet and chewy with just a bit of crunch on the oustide! My family has already requested a second batch!

Sausage Gravy III

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
This was really good. It could have been a bit thicker, that was the only complaint from my family, so next time I will add a bit more flour, to get it thicker! But it was good!

Veggie Pizza

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
Perhaps it was the lowfat options, but this didn't turn out nearly as well as other recipes I've tried. Took it to a party, and noticed most people took one bite and tossed the rest.

Stovetop Yankee Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
This is a fav of my husbands at a local resturant...He was skeptical of making it at home, but once he tried it, he said this recipe was better then the restaurant version. He told me to definately put this in the "keeper" recipe file!

Churros

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2009
These were absolutely wonderful! I expected them to be difficult to make, but they were incredibly easy! They are a bit heavier than we were used to compared to the local Mexican resturant, however, my family all said they preferred this recipe to the "lighter, fluffier" version! 5 stars in my book, I'll definately be making these again, and sharing this recipe with friends!

Honey Chicken Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2010
This was a great, super quick recipe! I did take some suggestion from readers and added a a fresh squeezed orange to the sauce. It really added a dimension of flavor! The only thing my family suggested was that it needed more of the sauce. So next time I make this recipe we will be doubling up the sauce!

This was excellent. Unfortunately for our local pizza delivery guy, we'll be making this instead of having pizza delivered from now on!
