Really, really good stuff! I used 3 cups chicken broth and 2 cups water and a Honeybaked ham bone, just because I had one but next time I will use the diced ham. Off of some of the other reviews, I cooked for 8 hrs on low. Too long for my cooker; the soup started to stick to the bottom and was thick. Not a bad thick but if you like a thinner soup, either add more liquid or I think the recipe was right on with cooking only 4-5 hrs in the slow cooker. I added part of the peas 1/2 way through for texture but it didn't matter-after 8 hrs it was all one consistency. On good recommendation from other reviews, I didn't add the salt at the beginning. I tasted at end and it didn't need it. Will be making this again!
